Satnaam Ji.

Bewildered by Treachory from Nehru and Gandhi, Kharak Singh had raised this movement as a face-saver. What was intended to achieve ? I guess a Sikh Chief Minister who could have greater chance to come to power and loot the Public money as his successor Badal is doing. Punjab boundary would have been at the face of New Delhi and we would have had substantial pressure to exert.

Horrible Fortune of SiKH kaum to have Illiterate leaders and more importantly, leaders not having anticipatory foresight and far-sightedness and lack of sense of criticality of them having the fortune of their kaum on their decisions.

Valour ji Punjabi Suba movement was the worst thing to happen to Punjab and the Sikhs post 1947. The leaders were really bought out specially Master Tara Singh as he will be picked up at the start of any agitation and take to the Dharamsal hill station and so called police arrest was just a day at a Hill station. This movement got us where we are with the continued exploitation by Congress and Hinduism system that rules India.

So sad.

Actually The Punjabi Suba Movement was for "PUNJABI SPEAKING PEOPLES"...BUT the Anti-Sikh Bhgawa forces changed this to a "SIKH MOVEMENT". IF ALL PUNJABI SPEAKING areas had been INCLUDED...Punjab wouldnt have become a SIKH Majortiy at all....Most PUNJABI SPEAKING areas KEPT OUT of Punjab are HINDU Majority. These were kept out based on HINDU and not Language.

NOW BADAL is the BEST bet to do maximum Damage.....thats why ALL Administrators/Judiciary/everyone is in FAVOUR of a badal CONTINUITY. BADAL fits the BILL of RSS/BJP/and Congress as well for DESTROYING SIKHS and PUNJAB. So whoever comes to power in Delhi..be it BJP or Congress or even CPI..the Support for BADAL will continue. A Shadow Play goes on in Punjab where the LOCAL Congress verbally attacks Badal etc...BUT their HIGH COMMAND in DELHI has a different AGENDA.:tablakudi:

Patiala,Punjab.
It was only after the creation of this so called Punjabi Suba that the newly created state of Haryana started progressing in leaps and bounds because of its proximity to Delhi.
Partap Singh Kairon wanted Sri Ganga Nagar and some other areas to be included in Punjab, but these illiterate Sikh leaders with their myopic outlook gave us this minuscule Punjab.
And on top of that, they celebrate that tragic day with great fanfare:angryyoungsingh:

Jasbirkaleka veer ji you said in the following one line what Punjab could have been. My father met Sardar Partap Singh Kairon and I have paraphrased it in the following,

Partap Singh Kairon wanted Sri Ganga Nagar and some other areas to be included in Punjab, but these illiterate Sikh leaders with their myopic outlook gave us this minuscule Punjab.

Mr. Kairon met my father and he said and I paraphrase,

"Maen Delhi tak Punjabi bulwawan ga!"

My Punjab goes up to Delhi and I will get people to speak Punjabi to these limits.
The system (to some extent his family) took care of Mr. Kairon through his untimely death.

Such was the vision needed versus the idiots we got!

Kairon was a visionary. Those who have long beards have achieved nothing for ourselves. Much of our grief is due to their selfishness, short-sightedness and personal ambitions. Is this not the concept of brahmanism in sikhism, in principle ? Brahmins had janeu and exploited the poor and misguided the nobles and the King. In Sikhs, the Janeu has elongated to attach kirpan. Why we are such blindfolded fans of such people ? Respect Kirpan but be critical of the person wearing it bcoz we are all mortals. HOw can we be so sure of their deeds ?

We have to educate our youth about the history of the recent past and help them draw some ideology based on the historic events. Still, they succumb to the call of such people who got so much of sikh youth killed.

Punjabi Suba has achieved its purpose for Akalis only. The party who launched it. It was not a People's movement but a political one. This analysis must be passed on to our brothers.

Ambarsaria Ji,

Why was the Punjabi suba movement initiated, as to what explanation was given by sikh leaders to motivate people towards it. Was it development or some other stunt ?

Ambarsaria Ji,

valour ji the following from Wiki,

The Akal Takht played a vital role in organizing Sikhs to campaign for the Punjabi suba. During the course of the campaign, twelve thousand Sikhs were arrested for their peaceful demonstrations in 1955 and twenty-six thousand in 1960-61.[35] Finally, in September 1966, the Punjabi suba demand was accepted by the central government and Punjab was trifurcated under the Punjab State Reorganisation Bill. Areas in the south of Punjab that spoke a language that is a derivative of Braj formed a new state of Haryana and the Pahari- and Kangri-speaking districts north of Punjab were merged with Himachal Pradesh, while the remaining areas formed the new Punjabi speaking state, which retained the name of Punjab. As a result, the Sikhs became a majority in the newly created state with a population of a little over sixty percent.
The above is pretty summarized. Notice the following,

  • Sikhs were slowly transformed from a martial race to a copycat Mahatma Gandhi "non-violence" mindset
    • This followed other garbage about fasting, etc., by Tara Singh and many more to follow
    • What a shame, this passivity is not representative of a Khalsa that Sri Gur Gobind Singh ji established
  • Hindus during Language census across the undivided Punjab while Punjabi speaking declared themselves to be non-Punjabi speaking through Jan Sangh movement
  • So division of Punjab was devised by ill at Heart congress and Hindu movements
  • Rest is history
The gullible villagers were used as a fodder to destroy Punjab through so called Tara Singh's, Fateh Singh's and the like's arrogance and ignorance or plain stupidity.

Sat Sri Akal.
