Book editor of vernacular paper for hurting religious sentiments of Sikhs: KAC to Punjab government|SikhSiyasat.net – Sikh News and Multimedia.

Amritsar (April 02, 2010): The Khalsa Action Committee today demanded a stern action against Joginder Singh chief editor of the vernacular paper published from Mohali for hurting the religious sentiments of the Sikhs through its editorial.

In a statement KAC chairman Mohkam Singh, Kanwarpal Singh and Narain Singh said the editor has committed a sacrilege by raising doubts about the authenticity of Guru Granth Sahib. Urging the Punjab government to initiate legal action against the editor to soothe the hurt feelings of the Sikhs, they said he (Joginder Singh) must be arrested under section 295-A of the IPC.

They alleged that from day one the editor has indulged in yellow journalism. His derogratory writings against the established beliefs, institutions of historical significance and rich traditions has given immense pain to devout Sikhs, they alleged.

It is pertinent to mention that Joginder Singh has been excommunicated from the Sikh Panth by Five Takht Jathedars few years back for his blasphemous writings.

In a communique to the Press Council of India the leaders urged the concerned authority to take suitable action against the editor for voilating the norms and ethics of journalism under the garb of ‘right to expression’.

Let's not excavate a topic that is already long gone.

Notwithstanding the 2010 date..perhaps SPNADMIN got it right again..THIS "TOPIC" is in the Rozana spokesman again..just a few days ago..there was an article in it on the Authenticity of the kartarpuri Bir and why its many errors befuddled many scholars..scholars like Bhai jodh Singh Bhai kahn Singh nabha Bhai gurditt singh etc disagreed on Vital points based on NOT ACADEMIA.but Personal likes and dislikes..!!!

READ it HERE: http://www.rozanaspokesman.com/epap...on=main&yview=2013&mview=Mar&dview=03&pview=6

Now an Article like THAT could be construed as "hurting sentiments"...yes indeed !! I am sure Bhai randhir Singh WALKED OUT of the SRM Comittee when they decided to write that ONLY HALLAL is NOT Permitted ( His snetiments were def HURT )..Sikh scholars and leaders have shown hurt sentiments many times before...Bhai Vir Singh was "hurt" when some refused to buy his argument about raagmala ( a non-existent book found in his alte father Charan Singhs trunk was supposedly a proof of raagmala being gurbani BUT bhai Vir Singh NEVER really produced that book - he beleived he was so great his word was enough !!! Sant Singh maskeen was hurt by Bhag Singh Ambalas book on DG...and so the list goes on...
