“Political language is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind"
-George Orwell

Objective documentary
Sad documentary
Important documentary

Extremely sad to watch truth behind words. I wonder how long Mr. Dante will survive. Blaming others is a weapon used to be fool others who go emotional even without hearing other side. Thanks for sharing Sinister ji. I could never forget " animal farm" and " Eighty Four "even after a lapse of decades.

I have 2 questions

(1)The question is who is funding maoists in India

2) Why there are no communists in muslim countries like Bangladesh .Is it because Islam keeps Human mind in control better than other religions

People like Mr. Dante’s caliber and Miss. Roy’s resolve don’t come around to walk amongst us too often. When they do, people tend to overlook them.

Orwell and his works made a deep impact on me as well.

As far as India is concerned:
Some sort of Revolution will come, if the upper classes completely alienate their own countrymen.

Viva la Vida

Well if revolution comes then it means that india will braek into pieces .Capitalist states like gujarat, maharashtra etc will never accept socialist policies.Infact gujarat is No. 1 state while west bengal is one of the worst state of india in terms of development

Kds1980 ji,

Good questions.

My answers/my suspicions/my suspects

1)The funding is most likely coming from within India...Indian communist parties (RSP, etc) (it is within their interests to expand a loyal communist base). Probably collection and looting from locals also provides some funding.
(China is a longshot…but another possible candidate who has a vestige interest in keeping India “busy”)

2)Well, the Bangladeshi communist party was involved in liberating the country… so I guess Bangladesh does have a vibrant communist party and other leftist parties… CPB, PBCP

and isn't china currently building a naval base in Bangladesh? (chittagong)...thats alot of cooperation and influence, if you ask me.

And I am sure they have many unionized workers here and there, who always need the typical leftist political wooing.

As far as other Islamic countries are concerned … none are democracies they are under a dictator or an aristocracy (aside from Turkey, and recently Iraq/afghanistan) ... big interests keep communism and any other opposition outlawed outright.

There has been little intellectual innovation made in these countries in the past 100 years! I guess "Islamic states" do keep mind under control…the question in my mind...for better or for worse?

i rather take communism over an Wahabbi islamic dictatorship. (i think it is the lesser of two evils...no rationale...just a feeling)

How do these countries promote free thought? Do they violate Human rights? (which is what this post is all about…freedom from oppression…freedom of speech...freedom of press...open embracement and acceptance of difference in opinion)

cheers

that could be the case but it seems highly unlikely...India is still a highly centralized power...they could reverse this dangerous trend...all they have to do is level the playing field: improve education and fix up that corrupt Judiciary (would be a good starting point in giving people some sort of an equal start)

which is all stated from the documentary

Compare Bangladesh with west Bengal.West Bengal is constantly ruled by communists from past 30 years There is hardly any presence of RSS and other fundamentalists Hindu groups in west bengal
While it is well known fact that bangladesh is moving towards islam. So there is something in islam that stops people from moving towards communism

yea ... lack of freedom ... and centralized authoritarian oppression! gotta love those strong religious institutions and the long bearded righteous mullah's who run them.

whats interesting?
Some islamic states are neo-communist/social welfare states.

look at the economic structure of UAE, Kuwait, and Qatar
the "state" (an aristocracy) own and operate most of the large businesses (oil, transports and construction)...and control all of the means of production. Everything is highly subsdized for the citizens and these states are ultimate welfare states. Unemployment is rampant. Private enterprises are few and almost all foreign.

they are still stuck in feudal mode of production...integrated and maintained via welfarism

Gurfateh

maoist ie MCC was previously divided into two.
CPI(ML) PWG and MCC.

After end of USSR MCC absorbed PWG.

PWG was made by GOI only to weakne the congress.Still in WEst Bengal and Andhra Pradesh.MCC finds no emrcy of killing commusits who contest the polls ie CPI and CPI M.

So we have MCC killing the persons who are against them even if the opponent is non violent.

Their sources vary from China,ISI and even some time polticial parties within India help them say in Andhra they are not such active but more in Chhatisgarh,MP and Orrisa. Why ?

They are expert to make use of political diffrecne among the various parties themselves.

Blaming mullahs is ok but the question is who put these mullahs into power.Of course it is general public. As you pointed out that communists are present in bangladesh, but they are not in power like their west bengali's counterpart. After indepence the bangladeshi's could have voted those communists into power. But they are not voting for communists like their west bengali counter parts

so there is something in muslim mentalitywhich keeps them away from communism
