Dr. Dalvinder Singh ji,

Guru Fateh.

Thanks for the very interesting write up.

You write:

Environment protection also means to  preserve our history and heritage. By demolishing historical buildings and Gurdwaras and rebuilding some with the bathroom tiles in the guise of Kar Seva directly or indirectly organised/sanctioned by the Akal Takhat and/or SGPC is ruthlessly against the preservation of the environment.

The question to be asked to the Akal Takhats and SGPC are:

How many environmental friendly buildings have they constructed as dictated us by the SGGS, our only Guru?

How much land have they allotted or bought to create parks?

How many trees have they planted outside and inside the periphery of the Darbar Sahib and other Gurdwaras.

Issuing orders is the easiest thing to do. That is not the way our Gurus did as your article would indicate. Issuing orders shows nothing but power, arrogance, self- centeredness, me-ism, which in return demands respect from those to whom the orders have been issued.

The idea based Sikhi demands from all of us who call ourselves Sikhs to study, understand and practice what is said in the SGGS, our only Guru on an individual basis. But,it is the duty of the Akal Takhat, SGPC and other GPCs is to be the flag bearers of the Sikh panth and lead by example. It is their duty to find tools to motivate the Sangat so they can become better Sikhs.

The reason for that is that they hold all the power in the Gurdwaras which can act as the schools of real teachings of SGGS rather than just the places for idol worshipping.

Giving trees to plant rather than Parshad is a good idea but how many of those live in the flats or other concrete houses? Does it really change the environment to better as Gurbani tells us to do or is it a good photo-op and a nice news in the newspapers and on TV stations?
