What is Guru Gyan Mission?
Looking at the dire state of affairs of our Community, a great pain & discomfort was felt from deep within. (Panthak Dard). Our Great Master (Guru Sahib) then bestowed his grace (Rehmat) on his beloved Sikhs (Gursikhs), by creating a desire for something to be done for the betterment of the Community at large (Panth). The heart yearned and bubbled over to spread the vast teachings of our Masters. It still does. There is enormous willingness on our part to toil day and night to do this. But, being social beings and living within a larger community, we have to seek the help of one and all.
The organized groups (Jathebandi) have their narrow outlooks and try to politicize every issue and in so doing, entangle even our Preachers (Parcharkas). On the surface, they may show signs of cooperation, but deep within, their ultimate goal is to exploit the Preachers to their advantage and convenience. When their personal agendas are not met, they then interfere and block the progress of our Preachers. This is a great barrier to the progress of our community and it is time to put them to trial and remove these obstructions.
The aim of a Preacher is to keep remain virtuous, so as to advance his service to the Community. It is generally seen and observed that entangled in such miserable and helpless situations, the Preacher succumbs to this pressure and thus compromises the pious principles of Sikhism. They succeed in earning a livelihood for themselves and their families but end up as a mere Priest doing rituals (Pujari) and not perform the proper duties of a Preacher (Parchark).
Those who cross all these barriers are few and far between. Such Preachers, in the long run, experience a life that is futile in its aspirations to be of service to the community.
Our renowned community Preacher, Bhai Ram Singh Ji, has been blessed to be of service to the our community for the last 14 years. He has served in various Singh Sabha Gurudwaras, spread out the length and breather of India.
In this time, he enjoyed the Happiness and Blessings of the Masters and the community, while accumulating a wealth of experience.
The Masters were with him in every step of the way, ensuring that he was well protected and taken care of.
In the year 2004, a thought developed in the mind of Bhai Sahib, to not be dependant on the self-willed management committees of our institutions, but to instead to start working on the improvement of our Community,
while being funded by personal tithe (Daswand).
With the Blessings of our Masters, this mission was thus started in the name of Guru Gyan Mission.
Gur Sikhaan Di Charan Dhoorh,
Inderjit Singh
