Beyond origin of light, ie sun moon etc there was darkness, that is outer perspective. With origin if light awareness of animated and inanimate appeared.

From darkness originated light, and from inner darkness emerged spiritual awareness and illumination.

With light in outer world scientific awareness originated.

With light of inner awareness spiritual texts appeared.

With sun moon stars, and scientific development of lighting gadgets.

Still state is Ghor Kaliyug.

Reasons are for introspection.

Pause and think.

Darkness is ultimate TRUTH, from pitch darkness, from darkness light is born,. since inception of life, humans have experienced dark and light zones.

With darkness there was fear, ignorance, crime etc

Light brings awareness, faith, confidence, research etc

Inner awareness brings understanding of desire, emotions, biological chemistry, and lastly manifested to physical action.

Are we aware or just reproduced and lived through ages, but without spiritual education and practice humanity is still in dark age ie Kali Yuga.....

That is the prayer of Mother Kali, ie Darkness which gave birth to light ie awareness to human beings.

ਜੇ ਜੁਗ ਚਾਰੇ ਆਰਜਾ ਹੋਰ ਦਸੂਣੀ ਹੋਇ॥

Even if span of life is measured with 4 yugs as One year of Birthday, and have lived even ten times more.

Shifting to Central Idea

ਜੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਨਦਰਿ ਨ ਆਵਈ ਤ ਵਾਤ ਨ ਪੁਛੈ ਕੇ॥
ਕੀਟਾ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਕੀਟੁ ਕਰਿ ਦੋਸੀ ਦੋਸੁ ਧਰੇ॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਿਰਗੁਣਿ ਗੁਣੁ ਕਰੇ ਗੁਣਵੰਤਿਆ ਗੁਣੁ ਦੇ॥
ਤੇਹਾ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਸੁਝਈ ਜਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਣੁ ਕੋਇ ਕਰੇ॥

Without inner awareness, there is natural activation of instincts of lower life forms, and one is unable to resolve.

And complete idea is Age, Reputation and following doesn't bring virtues, but inner awareness ie dispelling of darkness brings virtues.
