Jasmine is a God-gifted Poet Dr Dalvinder Singh Grewal Prof Emeritus Desh Bhagat University Jasmine is a God gifted Poet. While in teens, her tender mind was tuned to the nature and her poetic intellect started flowing outwards with poems published in renowned magazines. Soon her poems became a great liking for the readers. A poet of global recognition, Dr JS Anand observed ‘the freshness of outlook, beautiful word pattern, metaphors, the flow of thought, perfected in execution of poetic beauty compelled attention and admiration.’ Her gradual yearns for poetry made her to be one of the leading poets in global conferences even when she was in teens. About her poems, Jasmine wrote: Feeling and thoughts are natural to me: Emerging out of nowhere: all unknown, Overwhelming my soul; they will always be; As this is all me, and in these, I have grown. Like the flutter of butterflies; memory and dreams Pour all in stillness; the lull and silence; tranquil rhythms, my yearning; it seems The winsome oblivion; full of fragrance. (The Yearn p.1) She described Korona days beautifully in ‘Living Naturally’ (p.2), enjoys Beauty of ‘Stars’ (p.3), and ‘Nature (p.4), discussing universal Change and The Law of Nature (p.5), feeling the pangs of separation of friends being an Army officer’s daughter leaving places and friends 2 to 3 years each (p.6). She worries about the destruction of nature being caused by the man (p.7), and her love for nature when she writes ‘Love and enjoy the Nature, you won’t feel small’ (p.8), watching closely family life at home (p.9). Her rising waves from aesthetic heart started narrating God’s play as she wrote, ‘God’s play can only be understood If you attach to Him and to His word Forgetting yourself; if at all you could. Truth is the Only One, God alone Living forever and owning everything Creating new souls with new skin and bone. Identity is transient, a bubble-like the name Why feel related with changing fortunes , To follow the TRUTH, forget the frame., Whatever comes in the way accept More than enough, He gives you to live Remain relaxed and enjoy it as the best’. (Bubble Burst, p.11) And this way she goes on exploring nature, the world, the family and school life reciting all pleasures and pains beautifully. Her 'Atom' explores the deep reality of the world Atom is the smallest and indivisible, The strongest of all so far feasible. Part of each one and everything, Causes changes in a continuous ring Never stops its dancing even a bit. Keeps each movement; so fine and fit. In a system it moves universe, It is all natural; it does not rehe{censored}. It forms bodies, all in a different way. No one is ever same, whatsoever it may. Electrons roaming around it do this trick. As to her mother a child loves to stick. It is the earliest part; and last one too. Without it, the universe cannot do. Closest to the Creator; to its dearest God. Serves Him the best and follows each nod. Don’t say it smallest; it is the greatest of all. It is because him you are big and tall. If it is not there, you too do not exist. Neither earth, nor sky nor even this mist. Thank it, as it is the maintainer of all. God’s great creation; though it is so small. Finally, she thanks God and requests for His blessings ‘to care for nature’ ‘value God’s stature’ ‘work hard and to be sincere keeping God in heart’, ‘to earn and distribute’, ‘caring the destitute’, ‘aiming to remove hunger’, ‘being truthful and fair’, ‘to be human and kind’ ‘remaining honest and kind’ (Bless me O God, p.52) Artistically decorated and aesthetically printed ‘Rising Waves’ is real a treat. At this young age covering the entire universe in poetry is a remarkable feat for which she need encouragement to write more and blissful hence O God, p. 52), hence I feel that she deserves the Yuva Sahitkar award. 2025 Dr. D S Grewal Professor Emeritus Desh Bhagat University 1925, Basant Avenue, Ludhiana 141013
