Killer faked death scene of woman found strangled, hanged and burned - mirror.co.uk

A bride found strangled, hanged and burned with a suicide note  accusing her husband of having an affair was murdered, a coroner ruled  yesterday.

Pregnant Kuldeep Kaur Sidhu, 25, was discovered half-naked after an  arson blaze at her home in Birmingham in 2008. The nursery nurse's  unknown killers attempted to burn her body and left a fake note saying  her husband had made her life a "living hell".

But police uncovered the truth and yesterday Birmingham coroner  Aidan Cotter ruled she was unlawfully killed.

He said: "I am satisfied Kuldeep was murdered. After she was dead, a  rope was put on her neck to give the appearance she had hung herself. I  am confident the murderer or murderers will be brought to justice."

The inquest heard the family of her Sikh husband, Baljinder Sidhu,  were unhappy about the marriage as his Hindu wife was from a lower  caste.

But Mr Sidhu denied an affair and told the inquest they were happy,  saying he found out she was pregnant after her death. Mr Sidhu was  intially arrested. His mum was held for alleged death threats. Both were  released.

The coroner said the circumstances suggested family involvement.  Police said: "The answer lies closely around those known to Kuldeep."
