Metro Police released surveillance video today from a robbery and shooting outside a Wells Fargo bank March 30 that killed 31-year-old Amanpreet Singh.
Police said the video clip, taken from a camera inside the bank looking toward the front doors, shows the victim falling to the ground and a suspect taking a bank bag from him. The suspect then runs away.
Singh, a member of the Sikh religious community in Las Vegas, was shot multiple times about 4:30 p.m. March 30 outside the Wells Fargo bank near Sunset Road and Eastern Avenue. He died later that evening.
Last month, his family gave a $5,000 donation to Crime Stoppers in hopes of luring people to come forward to help solve the crime — one they believe could have been motivated by Singh's ethnic appearance and turban.
Police have said two men arrived at the bank in a stolen vehicle to commit the crime before taking off in a separate vehicle, possibly a four-door Ford F-150 pickup truck. Authorities recovered the stolen vehicle, a white 2001 Dodge Stratus, and processed evidence found inside.
Authorities want anyone in the area that day or who may have seen the suspects or suspect vehicles to contact Metro's homicide section at (702) 828-3521 or, to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555 or visit www.crimestoppersofnv.com.
