WHEN  BHAKNA STARTED THE PARTY. he used to get 25 cents per day as a lbourer. there was a man kasi ram from village madoli near morinda. he had a lumber mill in  oragon. he joined their party and became the treasurer. he paid most of their expenses. may be even rent of kama gata maru ship also. when they came near calcutta most of them were arrested and hanged later. i also heard from people of the area that kasi ram was hanged in his village. kartar singh sarabha was let go, because he was young and watched him when he does revolutionary work. there were five more men from sarabha village who were hanged and are not known. I am married nearby and and my brother in law is married on the other side of sarabha. That is how i heard the stories.  best thing happened that sohan singh  bhakna got sick in the boat and he was not hanged but punished for some years but he survived and lived a long life and became a hero.  Kasi ram was firts hero, gulabo was another hero in the party who spent her life for gadar party. she was caught along with sarabha and punished and vanish in jail in lahore. and died there. my view says  gulabo and kasi ram are the real heros of gadar movment  and the scholars who advertise , do not even mention their names.</p></blockquote><p></p>
