His father, Sh. Ganga Ram ran a small grocery store in the village and also worked as a purohit. In search of greener pastures, Kanshi Ram migrated to the United States of America in 1905. He worked in a lumber mill before becoming an influential labour contractor in Oregon. In this town, he was known as John Kim.</p><p></p><p>Kanshi Ram was one of the Ghadar Movement's organic leaders. The movement arose as a result of colonial authorities' racist-cultural attitudes, discriminatory immigration policies, and distorted legal procedures used to restrict Indian citizens' entry into Canada and America. Sohan Singh Bhakna and Pandit Kanshi Ram initiated this struggle by forming the Hindi Association, which later came to be known as the Ghadar Party. Kanshi Ram was a labour activist in Oregon who wielded considerable power among the immigrant Punjabi community. It is believed that the Ghadar Movement would not have been possible without Kanshi Ram's financial support and encouragement. He was elected as the Ghadar Party's treasurer. He persuaded Lala Har Dayal to come to Oregon and shoulder the responsibility of editorship of the proposed newspaper. The Ghadar Party was reorganized on 21 April 1913 and he was one of the members of its Secret Commission.</p><p></p><p>Kanshi Ram left America after the Ghadar Party appealed to its cadre to travel to India to incite an uprising. He arrived in India on 12 November 1914. He met with other Ghadar revolutionaries in Ladhowal, Ludhiana, on 17 November. Here, a decision was taken to loot Moga's treasury office. On 27 November 1914 on their way to Moga, his party was intercepted by police near Ghal Kalan village. They assassinated the sub-inspector and fled. Police gave a hot pursuit of revolutionaries; even locals assisted the police in apprehending them. Kanshi Ram was arrested after a 36-hour-long chase. He was taken to the Ferozepur Session Court. He was later transferred to the Lahore Central Jail and executed on 27 March 1915.</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>Village marauli is 2 miles from morinda between roads to kurali and kharar.
