I read the article, I dont understand how Indian Govt. has peserved the identity of sikhs.Even the massacre of chattisinghpura shows the shady role of indian army.

Why would the Indian army commanded by a Sikh Brigadier at Chattisinghpora who in turn was commanded by a highly decorated Sikh General the massacre the Sikhs? Sikhs form the core of the Indian Army and are revered by most of the Indians for patriotism, straight forwardness and valour.
