SALDEF SALDEF Announces Inaugural Leadership Program

SALDEF’s inaugural Leadership Development Program will take place October 7 – October 10, 2011 in Washington, DC and will bring together Sikh American college students and young professionals for a weekend of leadership training, personal development, and networking.

Through an expert team of trainers and speakers, this program will maximize personal potential in order to facilitate community-based social change. Participants will form a diverse and cooperative network of effective leaders and agents of change. Participants will also attend the SALDEF 15th Anniversary National Gala on October 8, 2011 at the JW Marriott in Washington, DC.

Participants will:

• Create a personal mission statement
• Develop new skills in public speaking, goal-setting, and peer education
• Increase awareness of personal culture and identity
• Develop a clear understanding of their unique leadership profile

This all expenses paid opportunity will provoke passion, impart real skills, and establish a network of emerging Sikh American leaders. The application deadline is August 21, 2011.
