Sikhism is ritualistic

The idea of praying to a holy book without reading is possibly the most ritualistic thing you can do.

It is the most ritualistic practice that a religion could have and Sikhi had it.

In the mind of a modern Sikh, when he sees a book being praised only through ritual he unconsciously values the writings in the book less and less.

Because if they were of substance the writings would be discussed and learned like he does in his education at school.

Something that he values.

The ritual of bowing and singing kills the value because it make Sikhi “easy”.

The reason why this worship of the book in a ritualistic manner has stuck along for so long is because it makes Sikhi accessible to all people.

And to make an idea accessible to all people you have to dumb it down.

Sikhi was only practiced by the few.

Sikhi has been dumbed down so much that there is no longer a correlation with what is written in the Granth versus what is believed and practiced.

The symptoms of this are: Nihangs. Chanting. Rituals. Nagar Kirtans. Kirtan. Langar.

The REAL Sikhi was distorted and then out pimped by Brahmin priests to stupid people.

[choraa jaaraa ranndiaa kutniaa DEE BAAN. vedina kee dostee vedina kaa khaan.]

Thieves, adulterers, prostitutes and pimps are the writers of the Vedas.. Their baani (deebaan) full of falsehoods is the friend of the Vedic brahmins, It is what they consume
