Not flippant at all! Sikh priests, Sikh high priests, Sikh Temple, apex throne of Sikhism at Akal Takht ... just to add to your list. Where and how did all this start? The Society of Friends (Quakers) has its roots within Christianity. The Society of Friends also has no clergy, no clerical hierarchy nor churches and temples. Quakers meet in "Meeting Houses." I cannot remember ever reading in the media "Quaker priest" or "Quaker temple." The same applies here. Mind the terminology is more than misleading.
