Dear Khalsa Ji,
Today I share with you what I understand from the 2nd Shalok which is just before 2nd Ashtapadee in Sukhmani Sahib on page 263 of Siri Guru Granth Sahib.
1. dIn drd duK BMjnw Git Git nwQ AnwQ ] deen darad dukh bhanjnaa ghat ghat naath anaath.
Destroyer of pains and sufferings of the hapless people, the owner of the unowned.

2. srix qum@wrI AwieE nwnk ky pRB swQ ]1] saran tumHaaree aa-i-o naanak kay parabh saath. ||1||
I have come seeking your asylum please be with Nanak, O’ Sat’.

My understanding:
Here Guru Sahib conveys to me the idea total surrender to ‘The Sat’; it is unqualified and complete. There are no ifs and buts to it; there is no self serving interest in it. Such a state of mind can come only when all the five vices are dissolved for ever. This purity of mind is to be achieved during the life time as human.
With this I close this post.
With love and respect for all.
Amarpal Singh
