I have P4 system [intel celeron 2.8Ghz,512 Mb RAM ]. There is always a problem in opening Audios and videos at Youtobe or other sites. It starts buffering, plays for 2/3 seconds and stops, rebuffers, plays again and stops.

Can anyone advise as to how to rectify this.?

I am no expert. But this sounds more like a problem with your Internet connection and not about your computer. Is it possible to call Technical Support for your Internet Provider. Your connection settings may need to be adjusted.

Another thought -- what browser do you use, and what version of the browser? If you have various applications that are what techsperts call memory hogs (like Norton antivirus, or other applications like elaborate toolbars), you may not have enough RAM (working memory) left to play media that is embedded in a web page like You Tube. IE and VISTA tend to use up a lot of available memory and with other add-ons one can have difficulties.

Clear your cache. And go into Cookie Manager for your browser (usually found under Privacy or Security in your browser settings). Clear out all your cookies.

Try downloading another browser like Firefox and make it your default browser. See what happens.

Bandwidth speed of half meg is just enough to watch Youtube. But 1 meg would be better. You may want to change your speed from your service provider. Normally a package deal offers an attractive monthly charge for unlimited access. You can enquire from your current service provider or any competitor for broadband supply.
