God does not take birth. God sat in trans for many ages without taking any action. hthen he or she dipped into his mind and got the idea of creation. that idea is the guru. then God blesses some beings to impart mental or same  knowledge. So it is a human who imparts the divine teaching to others. that is the guru. Remember that the world existed even before sikh religion came into existence. Sikhs have one of the processes they use to become divine and yet very rarely a sikh follows that. we all teach others like bhai Gurdas. There were learned people before SGGS was written or Guru Nanak was born. that means the process always existed. The problem came when many self proclaimed people started to call themselves guru to financially better their life. this is where the sikh rligion prohibits such guruship. There are genuine gurus still existing in human beings. they do not go and advertise. they have no demands. They recite God and request their followers to do so as well. they are happy within themselves. That is the hard part. they do not go door to door or establish deras to rob the society.
