Message: <blockquote data-quote="swarn bains" data-source="post: 226089" data-attributes="member: 17695">sggs page 286/287 sukhmani sahib. let us find sabad guru in itਸਲੋਕੁ ॥ Hymn: ਸਤਿ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਜਾਨਿਆ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਨਾਉ ॥One who knows the true God his name is guru!ਤਿਸ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਿਖੁ ਉਧਰੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਉ ॥੧॥The devotees attain salvation in his company. ||1||ਅਸਟਪਦੀ ॥ Ashtapadee:ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸਿਖ ਕੀ ਕਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲ ॥The guru cherishes His student.ਸੇਵਕ ਕਉ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਦਾ ਦਇਆਲ ॥The guru is always kind to his devotee.ਸਿਖ ਕੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਮਲੁ ਹਿਰੈ ॥The guru washes away the filth of evil of his follower.ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਉਚਰੈ ॥If he recites the name of God through guru’s teaching!ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸਿਖ ਕੇ ਬੰਧਨ ਕਾਟੈ ॥The guru cuts away the bonds of his student.ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਿਖੁ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਤੇ ਹਾਟੈ ॥Guru’s student abstains from evil deeds.ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸਿਖ ਕਉ ਨਾਮਧਨੁ ਦੇਇ ॥Guru bestows his student with wealth of God’s name.ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਿਖੁ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਹੇ ॥Guru’s student is fortunate!ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸਿਖ ਕਾ ਹਲਤੁ ਪਲਤੁ ਸਵਾਰੈ ॥Guru bestows salvation on his student here and the next world.ਨਾਨਕ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸਿਖ ਕਉ ਜੀਅ ਨਾਲਿ ਸਮਾਰੈ ॥੧॥O Nanak, the guru cares for his student wholeheartedly. ||1||ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਜੋ ਰਹੈ ॥The devotee who lives with the guru!ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਸਹੈ ॥Obeys guru’s teaching intently in his mind.ਆਪਸ ਕਉ ਕਰਿ ਕਛੁ ਨ ਜਨਾਵੈ ॥He does not have any ego?ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਸਦ ਧਿਆਵੈ ॥Always recites the name of God in his mind intently.ਮਨੁ ਬੇਚੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਪਾਸਿ ॥One who sells his mind to the guru!ਤਿਸੁ ਸੇਵਕ ਕੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਰਾਸਿ ॥That humble servant's affairs are resolved.ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਤ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਹਕਾਮੀ ॥One who becomes selfless doing service?ਤਿਸ ਕਉ ਹੋਤ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥Shall realize God the master.Page 287 ਅਪਨੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਆਪਿ ਕਰੇਇ ॥He who bestows His graceਨਾਨਕ ਸੋ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਮਤਿ ਲੇਇ ॥੨॥O Nanak, that devotee obtains guru’s teaching. ||2||ਬੀਸ ਬਿਸਵੇ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨੈ ॥One who obeys guru’s teaching hundred per cent!ਸੋ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਪਰਮੇਸੁਰ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਜਾਨੈ ॥That student understands the way of the Lord.ਸੋ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਉ ॥He who enshrines God’s name in his heart is the guruਅਨਿਕ ਬਾਰ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ ॥I admire the guru all the time.</blockquote>
