Pharisees stuck to the "Law", considered it above anything else. Anyone who followed the "Law" was accepted, anyone else was heathen, praising the false God. Although they didn't follow the "law" themselves they prosecuted anyone who would not follow it strictly.

Later day Brahmins/Pundits, Held up the "code" and similar practices. Anyone who followed the code was righteous, others were un-accepted. Although they themselves did not follow or try to become a brahmin they prosecuted anyone who wouldn't follow it strictly.

Muslims Forced the same "rules" on Hindustan during thier rule. While within Islam true values are lost and rules used conduct Jihad/ forced religion change to justify thier means.

Buddhism, Jainism other religions suffer from same illness. The Syanap/Shra/Wisdom/Rules/Manmat overpowers Dharam/Bhagti/Prem/Gurmat.

Paul in fist letter to Corinthians states: The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
Again I am taking quotations from other religions, perhaps this will shame some of us.:welcome: Judge Not Lest Ye Be Judged! and Let He Who is Without Sin Cast the First Stone.

As sikhs today we hide behind "SRM" and points at others calling them sects, blashemous, as far as "non-sikhs".

What part of SRM did Mian Meer Ji(Muslim Phakeer) follow that Shiri Guru Ram Daas ji specifically asked him for NIh of Shiri Harminder Sahib? Or ShiriChand ji, who followed Jogi panth, who's charnaamrit(nector of feet) was used cuz water wouldn't stay in Sarover in Harminder Sahib. Couldn't GuruJu have done this himself or asked Sikhs like Bhai Gurdaasji, Baba Budha ji or many other able sangat?

All Bhagats Kabeer ji, Julaha(weaver), TirLochan ji, Nahi(barber), Naamdev ji(who wasn't allowed to enter mandirs), Sain ji (barbar), Sadhna Ji(butcher), Dhana ji(Jatt), more low cast bhagats, whose Bani is In SHiri Guru Granth Sahib ji, were they all not sikhs/saints/ cuz they did not Follow SRM? Do we not bow down to these saints every day?

Question: As sikhs today we hide behind "SRM" and points at others calling them sects, blashemous, as far as "non-sikhs". Was SRM given to better our life/ follow it ourselves or as a tool to judge others with it? Where in Gurbani has SRM been used to Justify/judge anything or anyone by our Guru's that we use it to judge/justify others? Since when are we So righteous in our Guru that we have the authority to qualify or dis-qualify someone as saint/sikh?

In your words,

"As Sikhs today we hide behind "SRM" and points at others calling them sects, blashemous, as far as "non-Sikhs"."

josh ji,

On another thread you said you were not a Sikh. So who is the "we?" Seems Christians have escaped your critical eye today. Let me repeat something for the benefit of sangat.

You claim to want an open and honest debate about differences between and among religions. What we really have is a pattern of argument that I have seen now too many times in religious forums.

In fact, you are not in the least bit interested in debate or in the question because in further posts you demonstrate that you already know the answer.

This is obvious from your very first post earlier this week on one thread. In which you say that you have been reading discussions in the forum for some time, and you have come to the conclusion that this forum is bigoted. So there! You have already your answer. If we are bigoted, then why continue to ask questions? By your own reasoning, we can only give you bigoted answers.

Yet on the same various threads, you proceed next to question Sikhism's unique beliefs, and the legitimacy of believing that Sikhism is unique. No member of any religion should be required to go on the defensive and defend the fundamentals of belief in his own house, or in the forum of her professed religion. Yet, that is the pattern. Open with a quick assault, then put the opposition on the defensive with short quick nips and jabs. It is always the same. And when it happens, naturally I must call it to the poster's attention. When you see me on the forum of another religion asking disingenuous questions about the fundamentals of their belief then feel free to call me out on that.

Sikhism Do have sects as long as these sects beleive that Gurgaddi was given to Guru granth Sahib and Khalsa panth.I am sure there were many other Guru's baba's at the time of Guru gobind singh and the followers of these guru's ,baba,s were not acceprted as sikhs.

The Punjab and Haryana high Court has settled the issue on who is Sikh in a case for deciding the eligibility of Sikh quota seats in Sikh educational institutions. After long and learned arguments, it has clearly pronounced that only Keshdharis are Sikhs. Supreme Court of India also has confirmed this view.

So if you do not agree to the with of SGPC or Akal Takht, can you not agree with the pronouncements of the highest judicial authority of a sovereign country?

And by the way you do point out Kabir ji, Namdev ji etc and question whether they were Sikhs or not because their verses are included in Granth Sahib. Let me put a simple question to you. Both Christians and Muslims believe in Abraham and Moses.

So do we conclude that both Christians and Muslims are same?

Here is a statement that leaves me completely baffled, and has for days now. See Post 1....

Of course they did not follow SRM because SRM didn't exist when they were alive. In some cases Sikhism didn't exist when they were in their human form. SRM is the product, the result, of their banee. Put it on a timeline and it will make more sense to you.:welcome::welcome::welcome:
