No! Its not an application, but an absolute fact. Caste and Karma in Hinduism are beyond question linked. One goes in hand with the other. If you have no Caste you have no past Karma. Karma in Hinduism was designed to control people (Varna/Jati are testiment to this) The Sikh notion of Karma is more akin to, for every action, there is an equal but opposite reaction. Sikhism simply states that Human life is precious and above all other forms of life, so use it well, for if you don't you will suffer (here and now) in one way or another.
