Waheguru ji ka Khalsa Waheguru ji ki Fateh!
My question is:
Was Bhagat Bani that exists in Sri Guru Granth Sahib rewritten by Guru Arjan Sahib ji, before he added Bhagat bani alongside Gurbani? By rewritten i mean;
1. changing vocabulary, in order to make it more accesable for the Sikhs or other readers,
2. written new Shabads that do not exist in works such as Kabir-grantavali, or Bhagat Namdeo's works, by having the thoughts of the Bhagats in their mind [Guru Sahib's mind], and giving them the name 'Bhagat Bani'. That could be done in order to remove some of the matt-phed that existed amongst scholars/bhagats of that time, by later on answaring the questions that were found in "Shabads by Bhagats" in their own writings; Gurbani.
The reason why i asked this question is because;
1. scholars who are from outside Sikh circles, like those who study Bani written by Bhagats [works such as Kabir-granthavali], say that the 'Bhagat Bani' found in Sri Guru Granth Sahib is Bhagatan ki Bani, but there are differences between vocabulary of the same written found in their Bani outside SGGS and in SGGS for some of the same Shabads or concepts.
2. because lots of the Shabads that are noted as Bhagat Bani in SGGS, are not found in their own writings.
What does the Sangat think of this...
