Veer Prakash Singh Bagga ji thanks for your post.Veer ji to tell you the truth I was never trapped. One can call creator anything, if you personally understand it to be the creator as stated in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. So when I used God I never thought of Jesus, Buddha or Mohamed or any of the Guru jis as God.

So my personal understanding was God or creator as defined in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. I have definitely advanced in my understanding in dialog here with you and Gyani Jarnail Singh ji, Tejwant Singh ji, Taranjeet Singh ji, Bhagat Singh ji, Harry Haller ji, Sinner veer ji, Jasbirkaleka ji, spn admin ji and Bhain Ishna ji and Mai Harinder Kaur ji. There are many others younger than me and some older like Japjisahib04 ji, Amarpal ji.

I have learned something from each and everyone and I try to share my learning.

I am blunt and like to be rightfully corrected and criticized. When no one comments on my posts (like Sukhmani Sahib ji) I feel bad. I do not believe myself to be 100% right and I can tell my Veers and Bhains are insulting (ignoring) by not interjecting, commenting and correcting. That is the only sounding board I have to improve my understanding.

I have completed my drafts of Sukhmani Sahib, Rehraas Sahib, Kirtan Sohila, Bani Sheikh Farid ji, and am working on Japji Sahib. I will continue as much as I can but only post if such is of any use to someone.

Sat Sri Akal.

Should I be blunt too if you dont mind.I feel you are not a good learner.
You pretend to be learning but you actually dont want to learn
I may be wrong in my assessment. But I am telling you this from the core of my heart.

There is no problem Veer Prakash.S.Bagga ji as I can be as blunt when I am evaluating you as my teacher. You are not a good teacher lol.

Let us move on to the next chapter this thread has come to a conclusions and perhaps the next lesson will be better.

Thanks to everyone's contribution and we conclude by reviewing original poster's query if I may summarize,
TITLE: Does Sikhism Confirm the Existence of Hindu Gods/Goddesses?

Sikhism DOES NOT Confirm the Existence of Hindu Gods/Goddesses

The reason I ask is that if I look at these things now from a Scientific point of view that to append 10 heads on a body or many arms is just not practical and may not work

You have your reasons's to be skeptical

Sikhism DOES NOT Confirm the Existence of Hindu Gods/Goddesses
So does Sikhism say that these gods/goddesses in appearance were symbolic in nature or they actually did exist?

Mention in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is Symbolic and Metaphoric

Sikhism DOES NOT Confirm the Existence of Hindu Gods/Goddesses
Sat Sri Akal.

political...playground...bullying...games....??? I dont understand any of these words in connection with SPN. Its all imaginery. How can "religious topics" be political ? How could a serious discussion Forum like SPN be a mere playground ? How could anyone ever bully or be bullied ? and last of all are we playing games or learning ? I think we are all learning as long as we are true SIKHS. Just contribute whatever one can....please. There are many other forums and places where there is a lot of double speak, games, subterfuge, censoring, deleting etc...NOT AT SPN...everyone has SPACE here..so enjoy it.

Sikhism DOES approve of the existance, or else if it wasn't, how come I heard (at the gurdwara)the story of Ravidas calling out to GANGA DEVI and she actually came? This is nonsense I tell you, the guru ji even said they were hear, they even talk about Krishna/Vishnu ect.

NO Kamala ji..GURBANI doesnt "approve" of any such thing as the Hindu Myths. Gurbani tells us so clearly that Krishan raam ji etc were mere Rajahs who later came to be made into Avtaars...in Gurbani the Creator doesnt take BIRTH and there is no such as Avtaarvaad in Sikhi. Yes I agree with you that it sheer nonsense to say that Sikhi approves of myths...sikhi is REAL...daily discipline...not jantar mantar mythology.

Since every word of Gurbani is TRUE we should understand the contents of the messages in the light of this truthness of Gurbani. This way we can have better and more clear understanding about everything.
Prakash.S.Bagga
Prakash.S.Bagga ji read what Kanwaljit Singh veer posted and I excerpt below,
ਰਾਮੁ ਗਇਓ ਰਾਵਨੁ ਗਇਓ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਬਹੁ ਪਰਵਾਰੁ ॥
raam gaeiou raavan gaeiou jaa ko bahu paravaar |
Ram (RAMu) and Rawan (RAWANu) are gone. Kaput, no relevance and finished. They were referred as just people.

You say,
Since every word of Gurbani is TRUE
So when are you going to start respecting your own advice?

I am actually amazed that thrust of most of your posts lately is to do the following,

  • Support directly or indirectly myths about Gods, Godesses, Idols directly or indirectly
  • Support fake practices of "Mantras" and some relate as though they are embedded in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji
Seriously old man Prakash.S.Bagga ji why are you so bent on distorting and mis-leading Sikhs by linking to falsehoods and relationships to other religions and their beliefs?

I realize it can be painful to realize at your age that you have called yourself a Sikh but have lived and believed in elements having no relevance or promotion given by Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. But please do not destroy future generations who may be gullible and reading these forums!

AMBARSARIA Ji,
With all regards to your style and way of thinking you should note that the messages of Gurbani are very articulate and unless one is famliar with
this aspect of understanding there is always going to be problem like this.
One should see the words of Gurbani with Open Eyes as such and try to understand with Open Mind.
I cant say anything beyond this as You are owner of what you think. But one this is very clear one becomes the same as one thinks.
With best wishes
Prakash.S.Bagga
