Count Your Blessings

Count your blessings instead of your crosses;
Count your gains instead of your losses.
Count your joys instead of your woes;
Count your friends instead of your foes.
Count your smiles instead of your tears;
Count your courage instead of your fears.
Count your full years instead of your lean;
Count your kind deeds instead of your mean.
Count your health instead of your wealth;
Love your neighbor as much as yourself.

Every Sunrise
happy_sun_sm_nwm.gif
Every sunrise is a present, a gift from God above,
Gift-wrapped with scarlet ribbons and tied with bows of love.
Each is a new beginning, a time to start anew,
While all the stars are sleeping, and the rose is fresh with dew.
Each day's a new creation, too lovely to ignore,
And we may not find a blessing, just outside our door.
We cannot keep the past, like fireflies in a jar,
Nor journey to the future by wishing on a star.
Every sunrise is a blessing, a gift for just today,
Rejoice, my friend, embrace it before it fades away!

We are born into a vast room whose walls consist of a thousand doors of possibility. Each door is flung open to the world outside, and the room is filled with light and noise. We close some of the doors deliberately, sometimes with fear, sometimes with calm certainty. Others seem to close by themselves, some so quietly that we do not even notice.

Tolerance vs. Love
Tolerance says, "You must approve of what I do."
Love responds, "I must do something harder:
I will love you even when your behavior offends me."

Tolerance says, "You must agree with me."
Love responds, "I must do something harder:
I will tell you the truth,
because I am convinced 'the truth will set you free.'"

Tolerance says, "You must allow me to have my way."
Love responds, "I must do something harder:
I will plead with you to follow the right way,
because I believe you are worth the risk."
Tolerance seeks to be inoffensive;

Love takes risks.

Tolerance glorifies division;

Love seeks unity.

Tolerance costs nothing;

Love costs everything.

If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.

Happy moments, praise God.
Difficult moments, seek God.

Quiet moments, worship God.
Painful moments, trust God.
Every moment, thank God.

°*♥*°Never whisper words of love if the feeling is not true...Never share your feeling if you mean to break my heart... Never look into my eyes if all you do is lie... and never say hello if you really mean goodbye... °*♥*°

Dont quit
Don't quit when the tide is lowest
For it's just about to turn.
Don't quit your doubts and questions,
For there's something you may learn.
Don't quit when the night is darkest.
For it's just a while until dawn.
Don't quit when you've run the farthest,
For the race is almost won.
Don't quit when the hill is steepest.
For your goal is almost nigh.
Don't quit, for you're not a failure
Until you fail to try.

Everything happens for a reason. Nothing happens by chance or by means of good or bad luck. Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness and sheer stupidity all occur to test the limits of your soul. Without these small tests, if they be events, illnesses or relationships, life would be like a smoothly paved, straight, flat road to nowhere.
If someone hurts you, betrays you , or breaks you heart, forgive them. For they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious to who you open your heart to.
If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they love you, but because they are teaching you to love and opening your heart and eyes to things you would have never seen or felt without them.
Make every day count. Appreciate every moment and take from it everything that you possibly can, for you may never be able to experience it again.
Talk to people you have never talked to before, and actually listen. Hold your head up because you have every right to. Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself, for if you don't believe in yourself, no one else will believe in you either.
You can make of your life anything you wish. Create your own life and then go out and live it.

"Time is a companion that goes with us on a journey. It
reminds us to cherish each moment, because it will
never come again. What we leave behind is not as
important as how we have lived."

- Captain Jean-Luc Picard
played by Patrick Stewart,
from the film "Star Trek: Generations"

The more knowledge we acquire, the more mystery we find….A human being is part of the whole, called by us the Universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separate from the rest--a kind of optical illusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty. Nobody is able to achieve this completely, but the striving for such achievement is in itself a part of the liberation and a foundation for inner security.

---Einstein quoted in Mother Earth Spirituality by Ed McGaa (page xiii)
