I love so much music I couldn't even start to pick a top one! from bhangra to classical, to hip hop and soul and even rock and reggae! Drum and bass, house!

It's all good!!

Just asking, have you ever heard an old Hindi - film song that expresses the battle of love and jealousy? Words are" barhee wafaa se, tum ne nibhaee, hamaari thori see bewafaaee...Hazaar rahen, Ham ne dekheen, kahi se koee sadaa n aee..."

If not, please do, I guess, it may add something more to your favorite song" love is my religion..":)

The clip by Bhagwant Mann was something else.

aad0002 ji

It is a song sung by Bhagwant Maan describing a drastic change in Punjabi culture in which many things have become obsolete due to avalanche of outside multicultural influence with new inventions as well. It is a comedy kind of song; all you see are clips aligned with the lyric singer sings
. Very Humrous in the context.

What I found truly hilarious was how Bhagwant Mann was in everybody's business, and sometimes getting on everybody's nerves. The drastic contrast of traditional and new influences was as you say right out in front. Well he sure can travel.

Shankar-Jaikishan's number from DIL TERA DIWANA (1962) is perhaps the most enchanting from the Hindi film department. For reasons unknown it is seldom quoted in a 'light' catalogue of Bhimpalasi. Mohammad Rafi and Lata Mangeshkar: mAsoom chehrA -

The 1971 musical bonanza AMAR PREM had some classics, among them this quasi-Todi creation of R.D. Burman. The effortless forays in and out of Todi are ingeniously conceived. Lata Mangeshkar: rainA beeti jAye -

Lata Mangeshkar sings for Shankar-Jaikishan in LOVE IN TOKYO (1966): Sayonara Sayonara -

Manna Dey, Laxmikant-Pyarelal and Bharat Vyas pool in for this SANT GYANESHWAR (1964) number: jAgo re prabhAt AyA -

Sinister ji, namjap ji, drkhalsa ji,
Your favorite songs, when I heard again, buried me under that past for sometime which dragged me up and down till I lost my consciousness. The smoke of the disaster visualized by my eyes was enough to shake my all nerves. Who was I then?, Never I could get a answer.
Commentary
1.Piaasa the beyond contentment, Guru Datt’s peak of career and love in reality.
2.Galib, who scored mountainous perfection in wording poetic truth” Mohabat me nahin farq jine our marne ka, usee ko dekh kr jeete hain, jis qafir pe dam nikle…
3. Another poetic truth" Saagr se gehree.." when eyes envelop the whole entity, they reduce every thing to be insignificant.. Have you heard; when eyes follow there is no place to hide.

Thanks all of you for wonderful lyrics / Gazal

There has to be a way to archive or preserve this thread so that the film and commentaries do not go down in a system crash. And so that they will be available for that membership cluster who will want to go back again and again to see them (threads fade into the background from time to time). Not sure how to do it. It would not be an e-book because they can't be updated without starting a whole new book. Something like an Arts and Leisure collection. The lightbulb will go off, I know. Anyway this has been keeping me up way past bed-time.
