Opinions on cornrows

Hello sadh sangat. I currently have an ameutur MMA fight upcoming and am not allowed to bring any sort of dastaar into the ring. I was unsure whether getting cornrows was against the reath or if it was ok since I will not cut my kesh. Please can I get some guidance on this topic. Thank you

It seems to me that this would be against rehat because it is similar to matted hair of the yogis. Also it seems dangerous because your opponent can pull on it for advantage. A joora seems like the best way to go to me.
