I saw something similar when Amir Khan talked about problems in Indian medical profession. Most of the doctors started protesting against it. For 20 years they have been letting people do scandals in their own profession and chosen to be quiet... now they shout when someone points out from outside.
We should not tolerate wrong doing of anyone, even if they belong to our family, religion, profession or country.
