A campaign led by a Surrey Sikh temple and three Lower Mainland radio stations has raised $1.5 million to aid victims of the Jan. 12 earthquake in Haiti.
And donations are still coming in, organizers said.
The effort by the Guru Nanak temple was supported by Surrey radio stations Red FM and Radio India along with Richmond broadcaster Radio Sher-E-Punjab.
The results were released during an afternoon press conference at the Surrey temple on Scott Road Thursday.

Bikramjit Singh Sandhar, president of the Guru Nanak temple, said support for the campaign was widespread, with people donating amounts ranging from $10 to $10,000 in a matter of days.
"It was just beautiful," Sandhar said.
Radio India host Harpreet Singh said the donors ran the gamut from children to seniors to people with modest incomes and the well-off.
"Everybody just opened up their hearts and gave in this time of distress," Singh said.
Organizers promised every penny of the money donated will go to support relief efforts, with no expenses deducted from the total.
Recipients will include Doctors Without Borders, the United Sikhs non-profit aid agency and the Haitian government.
