Just as pilgrimages, holy baths and keeping fasts is criticized by writers of the Aadh granth baani, so too is the ritual of doing paathh.
These rituals are ineffective attempts by the manmukh gawaar to connect to akaal purakh who can only be reached with seva (use) of satguru within us.
Third mahalla On page 66-18 writes this about the ritual of paathh.
Third mahalla is saying that doing paathh (japji saab da paathh, rehras saab, asa di vaar da paathhh, sukhmani saab jaap saab, etc etc) is what Bhaikhi (pretenders) do.
Reducing Aadh granth baani to "paatthh" is be-adabi.
Only the guru within you can connect you to akaal purakh

Akaal purakh is spotless and beyond beautiful, He can not be accessed without your guru (within you)har nirmal att ujlaa, bin gur paaiaa naa jaye
Paathh reading can not give you the understanding, the pretenders who do paathh are delusionalPaatth parhai naa bujhaee bhaykhi bharam bhulaaye.
