Who is the researcher who has not internalized the message of 10th Nanak but is worried about dangers to the Khalsa Panth?

Gyani ji,

Guru Fateh.

Well said. It is commendable on Prof. Darshan Singh's part to accept and admit that he has changed his views about DG. It is the only Sikhi thing to do. He knew that he would be criticised and maligned by those who call themselves " Real Sikhs" for sharing his true Sikhi which means not to be afraid of discovering new things.

You, yourself have aptly put many times that a Sikh's duty is to learn, to unlearn and to relearn and Prof. Sahib, who resigned as the Jathedar of Akaal Takhat ( most of them are sacked) because of Sikhi principles is not ashamed of letting the Khalsa Panth know that he is a TRUE SIKH by doing just that. He also showed everyone that he does not shun from changing his mind when the Gurmat wisdom demands it.

. I do not discourage discussion on dasam granth sahib. I have raed Dasam granth sahib and also we have done research on its history. As indicated quite afew times we have built up data of its mention in sikh history from its inception. So why should i discourage any debate on that.

On the other hand person in question does not know much about Dasam garnth sahib and what parameters are to be ascertained for authenticity of a scripture. All he does is call Hindus who have knowledge of dasam granth. A unilateral statement without providing any refrences. I even called him to have a look on 1698 manuscript in Northern california where i live.

So it is not right to call me an opponent of dasam granth debate.

Inder Ji..

I beleive THAT position is ultra vires the Hukmnama of Akal takhat Sahib !!
Please tell us YES or NO. and if YES..why ? since you are a strong proponent of Akal Takhat Hukmnamas/Jathedars...or is there NO SUCH Hukmanma/Directive and we are all free to discuss DG.

Forum members,

Here is an interesting message forwarded by Tejwant Singh Malik ji (VaheguruSeekr). The email originates from Gurmit Singh ji, from Australia. The substance of the email sets out very clearly what the main themes in the Dasam Granth debate are about. Both in terms of the authenticity of the Granth and in terms of issues related to veneration of the Granth.

New literature and research associated with the Dasam Granth are also included in the body of the email. The email is part of correspondence between 2 people - so there are some paragraphs (e.g., a discussion of black clothes) that might be out of context for 3rd party readers).

Waheguru jee ka Khalsa Waheguru jee kee Fateh

Many thanks for sharing the latest recordings of Prof. Darshan Singh jee and
Bhai Panthpreet Singh jee.

I have heard two recordings of 24 and 25 June 2009 and others will do this week.

Professor jee rightly has said that Sikhs have only One Guru i.e. Guru Granth
Sahib, and that no other book could be installed. But at the same time, he has
been telling the Sangat that Baanis taken from Bachiter Natak should continue
to be recited as mentioned in the Sikh Rahat Maryada (1945). When Bachiter
Natak was not authored by Guru Gobind Singh Sahib, why Sikhs are bound to
recite merely because some Eight persons after the laspse of (8) years (from
1936 to 1945 when World War II was going on) have directed us to do so?

Such duality is not acceptable anymore. Let us see -

(1) Jaap Sahib is neither written under Mahla 10 nor attributed in the name of
"Nanak" as other Gurus had done;

(2) Similarly, Ten Sawayyas have been lifted from Serial Nos. 21 to 30 of
Akaal Ustit;

(3) The Benti Chaupai is listed at Serial Nos. 377 to 401 of Chariter Pakhayano
Triea Chariter No. 404;

(4) Sawayya is picked up from Chaubees Avtar - Ram Avtar Sl. No. 863;

(5) Dohra is also from Chaubees Avtar Sr. No. 864;

(6) 90% of Ardaas's First Stanza under Bhagauti has been taken from
Vaar Durga Kee (Chandi Dee Vaar)

And several other significant assertions in the SRM do not conform to the
Gurus' Teachings and as such SRM needs modification without any delay.

For the last (30) years, several Authors have expressed their views that
Bachiter Natak or socalled Dasam Granth can't be attributed to Guru
Gobind Singh Sahib. The latest Book confirms it again i.e.
Book: Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee Dee Baani Dey Aadhaar Tey Dasam
Granth Dee Vichaar by Dr. Gurmukh Singh;

Email: gurmukh_sarjit@hotmail.com

About black clothes, it is personal choice of Prof. Darshan Singh jee,
though Sheikh Farid jee has expressed his thoughts in different context
at GGS Page 1381, Saloak No. 61

Since decline in Sikhie is due to the short-comings of SAD/SGPC and
other factions, there is hardly any reason to blame Brahmin or Snake !!
Why blame them when we Sikhs have to be careful and to obey the Gurus'
Teachings with devotion and humility [Dadaiy Dose Na Deyoo - P.433-21]

Inder, since you say you support and follow Akaal Takht. I have several questions.

1) Do you read lambee chaupai or short one?
2) Do you say Laavo Bhog or Dar Parvaan Hove?
3) Do you read arill brills ghrill with chaupai or not?
4) Do you read mool mantar up to Gurparsaad or Nanak Hoasee Bhee Sach?
5) Do you agree with aarti at hajoor or is that bamanvaad?
6) Do you enjoy mahaparsaad aka jhatka as per Takht maryada or you are anti-meat?
