Many of the Bedi's and Sodhi's I have met (the Guru's clans), tend to be fairly light skinned compared to the average Indian.

Sometimes the simplest explanation holds true!
Is there any reason to assume the Gurus were not naturally fair anyway?
And as noted earlier, it's of no significance spiritually
