1. To me its a very simple and Logical - WHAT got ACCEPTED into SGGS makes the GRADE..what DOESNT fails. Bhai Gurdass didnt get ACCEPTED. Period. Prof Sahib Singh has an opinion. Period. However he too CANNOT Double Guess Guru Arjun Ji and question WHY Bhai Gurdass ji or anyone else for that matter is NOT included into SGGS. (soem other bahgats were also excluded inspite of them getting VERY VERY ANGRY and complaining to Emperor Akbar/Jehangir as well - but to no avail..they remained OUT/UNACCEPTABLE at the Price of the Horrendous shahedee of Guru Arjun Ji Sahib - NO COMPROMISE where the GURU (SGGS) is concerned. Period. Excat SAME situation faces the Guru Khalsa Panth TODAY...and SAME ANSWER...NO COMPROMISE where SGGS is concerned.

2. Your assertion seems to show that GURUS Hargobind Ji, Guru Har rai Ji and Har Kishan Ji were "UNEDUCATED"...or didnt learn any languages..Since THEY certainly didn compose even a Single Line of Gurbani as well !! Guur harkishan Ji could inspire a village "nincompoop" to do meanings of the Bhagwad Gita to "defeat" a learned Brahmin Pandit ....but Himslef didnt compose a single line..so whats the CONCLUSION ??..Guru Ji learned the Language of Gita just for ?????????????? showing off that He can get a village idiot to do katha ????????????????????????? Once AGAIN we are trying so hard to DOUBLE GUESS OUR GURU. Period.

3. I am a member of the Guru Khalsa Panth/Guru Granth sahib Ji..and the SRM. Until the Guur Khalsa Panth changes the SRM ( as it will soon enough if whats happening today continues unabated) I follow the SRM.:happysingh::happykaur::happysingh:

Respect Gyani ji,

Respectfully, I beg to differ with you on few points :

1> Bhai Gurdas ji even composed after the compilation of SGGS clearly indicates that the his compositions were respcted within the Panth.
The very mention of Guru Hargobind Sahib validates this fact.
And also its mentioned in SRM that they may be recited as a part of Keertan in Gurudwara Sahib where there is Parkash of SGGS.

2> Pls donot construe meaning out of my statement as per your convinience.
I have not made any comments on Guru Sahibaan.
Many important events happened after the compilation of SGGS too :
Construction of Akal Takht Sahib
Miri-Piri event
Wars of Guru Hargobind Sahib
Introduction of Dhadi's by Guru Hargobind Sahib
Shaheedi of Guru Arjan Dev Sahib
Shaheedi of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib
Khalsa Sajna
( None of these activities find mention in SGGS)


SRM clearly says that Jaap Sahib and other Dasam Pita Bani's are to be recited as a part of Nitnem.
Neither Professor Sahib Singh, nor any other panthic personality has spoken about the nitnem baani's

And GCS Jeonwala says that Jaap Sahib is from Markende Puraan, and we still praise him for his composure, logical approach etc.

The SGGS is NOT a "History" book per se....SGGS need NOT mention any hsitorical event...any mentioned are at Guru Jis discretion....
You may be confusing this with the Bachittar Natak which is an "AUTOBIOGRAPHY..of supposedly Guru Gobind Singh Ji....and as an autobiography..it ABSOLUTELY has to mention ALL important historical happenings...which IT FAILS..and is thus Failed the Litmus test of being an autobiography of GGS. Actually the BNG comes across a very ANTI-MUSLIM BIASED composition...an insult to GGS.

2. Although the Physical building/history of Akal Takhat is NOT mentioned in SGGS..the PHILOSPHY/GURMATT Foundation on which the Akal Takhat is Based is mentioned many times in SGGS...in FACT the SGGS is the defacto and TRUE "JATHEDAR" of Akal Takhat as this is our GURU..and ONLY the GURU can sit on this Throne. Same goes for..for example..qualities of a PARDHAAN....GURMUKH...MANMUKH...Bhagat...SANT..etc etc etc are Provided in SGGS..even though there may be No mention of the SGPC Pardhaan..or Makkarr in SGGS....etc etc.

3. Knowledge changes daily..with the vast RESOURCES available Today..it is aFALLACY to go on quoting DEAD PERSONS... Compare Fareedkotee teeka with that of Prof Sahib Singh...he made so many new assertions...see Prof sahib singh DEPART RADICALLY form the widely accepted Mohan Pothis Fable..WHY ?? Becasue Prof Sahib Singh, Vir Singh Bhai Kahn Singh nabha etc brought NEW OUTLOOK..a fresh new look at gurmatt/sikhi/history etc based on their TIME !!! What was not possible in Nirmala/Udasis period of Gurdawra Control....became possible after the Singh Sabha/Gurdwara Sudhaar Movement liberated the Gurdwaras.... Most of our Written RESOURCES are still waiting to be researched according to new 22nd century methods...The New Generation will NOT simply accept the sheer nonsense lying down...my six grade student went for a Sant Samagam on Japji Sahib Katha...she got up and came abck after five minutes when the Sant Mahapurash told the audience that GUru Nanak ji ahd a Very special set of Kharrawwan which enabled Guru Ji to cover Vast distances in the wink of an eye...!! This kharrawwaan are supposedly in a special gurdwara known only to the sant mahapurahs...the Sant Ji then commented..eh Communist..nastik log han...ehnan wich Guru partee SHARDHAA nahin hai.. to .this comment is now added NEW vocabulary..kalaafghani hai..Gurmatt is a Modern religion..not for BLIND Shardhaloos.. TODAY..Singh sahib Darshan Singh Ji has equal knowledge to the Past scholars such as Gyani Ditt Singh/Prof Gurmukh Singh.. whom were EXCOMMUNICATED in their time as well by the same blind ones that exist today. Prof Gurmukh Singhs excommwas OVER TURNED recently..whats to say the exact same wont happen to the one against Darshan Singh a few decades down the road ?? Its Not simply said that SIKHS think AFTER the FACT..never before/on time.:happysingh::happykaur:

see this link as to the reasons why the PURANS are mentioned as sources of DG...proof is in the pudding... Jaap Sahib "shares" the more than 1000 names of Kaal mentioned in the Markandeh Puraan....and in the exact way..eg Namo Kaal Kaale..Names of KAAL !! additionally there is no beginning and no clear ENDING of Jaap Sahib..perhaps the Sodhak Committee decided to lop off the beginning and ending for some reason...anyway all this needs RESEARCH by qualified academicians of REPUTE . (IN the SGGS..ONLY one "bani" shares such a reputation..and its none other than the RAAGMALA which shares its vocubalary/chaand etc with Kaam Kandala poem of Madhav Nal.....in DG the banis shared are endless....almost ALL.
