Hello, my name is Jaskeerat Kaur. I am a university student. I currently attend Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, CA and I am majoring in Business and European Studies. FreeSpirit used to be my username on this site; however, it had been quite some time since I had logged in therefore, I registered under the new username: paz.y.amor. For those of you do not speak Spanish, paz y amor means peace and love.

It's great to be back and I look forward to having intellectual and thought provoking conversations with you all.

Sat Sri Akal g,

As my introduction I would say I am another person born in a family who believe they are Sikh. However none in our family is a practicing Sikh. In my opinion ours is a Sikh family whose ancestors sometime followed Sikhism in actual. I tie turban but cut my beard. I believe myself to be working towards being a true sikh. I change my ways as my awareness grows.

From my Education, Society influence, and other Social Factors I know History of Sikhism to an extent an average person would know.

At the age of 28 now, I have started understanding the actual meaning of being Sikh(starting stage), I am still discovering new things in Sikhism and I am amazed by the simplicity of this faith as described in Guru Granth Sahb.
Otherwise our Society is making it sound more and more complicated. And this simple truth explains the increasing Gap between real sikhism and sikhism being followed by our society.

I listen to Gurdass Mann and only him. In my opinion others just sing. I believe his lyrics are inspired from Guru Granth Sahb.

Rest in the blogs...I have expressed my thoughts on my blog titled "Do Sikhs have equality of Sex"

I have also wriiten something in response to
"Dominance of rituals in Sikhism" by jasbirkaleka

Invite you all to express your thoughts too.

Ready to Change for good

Dear Antonia Ji,

Thanks for your kind words. I am very much delighted to join such wonderful members who has nothing but praise unlike some other Sikh forums where there is hypocrisy and criticism only and no participation at all in a constructive way.

Virinder
