Russia Ukraine war has brought out many weaknesses in the Russian Army which resulted in a total win over Ukraine despite the US and NATO's continuous assistance to Ukraine. The Russian military has not been found fully trained for war especially since there is a lack of training of mid-level officers in the Russian military. Most of their equipment is out of date and is not well maintained. There is a flaw in the organizational structure of the military. Their military decision-making is too centralized. There is not enough latitude for leaders in the field to make the spot decisions. Corruption is endemic throughout the Russian military. Putin knows all this for a long time. Following the invasion of Georgia, Putin was made acutely aware of the effectiveness of the Russian military. Reportedly a program was instituted to eliminate corruption from the military and to improve its performance. However, it appears that this program was itself subject to corruption in the Russian military. The result is that soldiers are not being trained. Soldiers are not equipped well. Soldiers are being sent to the front lines with rifles that were designed in 1891.

However, it cannot be denied that despite the support of the West Russia has its control over 1/3 of Ukraine

Western intelligence reports today that Iran is proceeding with plans to build a drone factory in Russia capable of producing up to 6,000 drones for use in Ukraine.

Officials from a country aligned with the US said a high level delegation of Iranian officials visited Russia last month to inspect the construction site and work out final details.

The delegation was led by Brigadier General Abdollah Mehrabi, head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Aerospace Force Research and Self-Sufficiency Jihad Organization, and Ghassem Damavandian, chief executive of Iran’s Quds Aviation Industry.

Sources claim the drone factory is part of a $1 billion deal between Moscow and Tehran. The deal includes Moscow providing Iran with weapons seized on battlefields in Ukraine which Iranian engineers then try to reverse engineer. Also included are Russian fighter jets on which Iranian pilots are currently being trained.

Wagner Chief Yevgeny Prigozhin complained earlier of a lack of military equipment and supplies and improper treatment of its troops while fighting in Russia. He was replaced by Putin but before he could hand over Prigozhin revolted against Putin and the Russian Defence Forces and started withdrawing with an aim to march to Moscow. Russian Army interfered with the move and in a scuffle, Wagner's 30 men were killed. Seeing the situation getting worsened, Belarus's President intervened and offered protection in Belarus This defused the situation Prigozhin said: "We started our march because of an injustice. We wanted to demonstrate our protest and not to overthrow power in the country," Prigozhin said in an audio message, Al Jazeera reported. Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin on Monday said the purpose of the march towards Moscow was to stop the destruction of the private military company and "bring to justice those who, through their unprofessional actions, made a huge number of mistakes during the special military operation".
Russia's Ministry of Defence has denied his claim and termed the killing of 30 Wagner men an "information provocation". After Prigozhin's statement, Putin in a televised address to the nation said the "armed mutiny" by the Wagner group is a "stab in the back", and vowed to punish those who were on the "path of treason" or anyone who takes up arms against the Russian military.

Lukashenko saved Prigozhin from elimination and Putin from an uprising against him through relentless communication which included more foul language from Progozhin venting his anger against Putin. The sustained effort of Lukashenko finally brought him to talk sense. Lukasenko's discussion with Putin earlier helped save Prigozhin. Even though Putin did not have hope of Prigozhin speaking to Lukasenko but the latter succeeded and the result was the safety of Prigozhin and his final safe landing in Belarus. The version of talks as given by Lukashenko is given here.
main-qimg-3f399bf098f064de975c531016aa5215

"There were ten times more swear words than normal vocabulary," Lukashenko told how he managed to get through and negotiate with Prigozhin.
The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, recounted how he managed to contact Yevgeny Prigozhin on the day of the armed rebellion, which was instigated by the Wagner PMC. According to Lukashenko, he advised his Russian counterpart not to make a "rash decision," and the conversation with Prigozhin was filled with profanity. Details are provided by BelTA on June 27.
The Belarusian leader mentioned that he received alarming information about the situation in Russia at around eight o'clock in the morning on June 24, and by 10:10, he was speaking with Vladimir Putin.
"I asked several questions, including how to counter this, and I realized that the situation was complex. I won't go into further details about this part of the conversation," Lukashenko continued. He noted that the most dangerous aspect was not the situation itself but its progression and consequences. He understood that a "ruthless decision had been made (which was implied in Putin's speech)—to kill."
The President of Belarus stated that he suggested to the Russian leader to take his time and attempt to communicate with Prigozhin. In response, Vladimir Putin claimed it was "pointless" because Prigozhin "doesn't answer the phone and refuses to talk to anyone."
"I asked, 'Where is he?' He responded, 'In Rostov.' I said, 'Alright, a bad peace is better than any war. Don't rush. I'll try to contact him.' He reiterated, 'It's pointless.' I said, 'Alright, wait.' We spoke for about half an hour. Then he informed me that he was on the front lines. I recall his words: 'You know, strangely enough, it's better at the front than it has ever been.' I said, 'You see, not everything is so bleak.'"
According to Alexander Lukashenko, by midday, three channels were established to communicate with Rostov. During the initial stage of negotiations, the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, and the director of the FSB, Alexander Bortnikov, were present.
Yevkurov called Prigozhin, shared the details with Lukashenko, who agreed to talk. As the Belarusian leader noted, he was in a state of "complete euphoria."
According to him, the first half-hour of negotiations mainly involved the use of profanity. "There were ten times more swear words (I later analyzed them) than regular vocabulary. Of course, he apologized and then started telling me using obscene words," Lukashenko continued.
According to the President of Belarus, Prigozhin was heavily influenced by the PMC "Wagner" fighters who had recently returned from the combat zone, particularly the assault detachment commanders. "In this situation, having abruptly left there for Rostov, in such a half-mad state, I engaged in this dialogue with him," the Belarusian head recalled the details.
"I said, 'Zhenya, no one will give you Shoigu or Gerasimov, especially in this situation. You know Putin as well as I do. Moreover, he won't just meet with you—he won't even talk on the phone due to this situation,'" Lukashenko continued the narrative. According to him, Prigozhin fell silent and then stated that the Wagner PMC "seeks justice" because they "want to strangle them," so they would go to Moscow. Lukashenko attempted to reason with his interlocutor, stating that "halfway there, you'll be crushed like a bug," but he refused to listen.
Lukashenko emphasized that the unfolding situation in Russia would eventually impact Belarus as well. Therefore, he tried to convince Yevgeny Prigozhin to halt the movement of fighters. However, in the end, he mentioned that his brigade was prepared to be transferred to Moscow, which they would defend, just like in 1941.

Putin is now in dire need of stopping this war and finding out a way out through some most reliable mediators. Amongst these, now he has spoken to Mr. Modi PM of India about the entire gamut of the revolt and the aftermath the details of which are given below:

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday held a 'meaningful' conversation over the phone and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen the bilateral strategic partnership while exchanging views on the conflict in Ukraine.

The telephone conversation between the two leaders came days ahead of the virtual summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) which is being hosted by India on July 4.

It also came a day after Russia's Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval discussed bilateral ties and the latest security developments in Russia.
Modi and Putin reviewed progress in bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual interest, the Ministry of External Affairs said. Both leaders agreed to remain in touch and continue to make efforts to further strengthen the Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership between the two countries, it said.

'The conversation had a meaningful and constructive character. The leaders reiterated mutual commitment to strengthening the privileged strategic partnership between Russia and India and agreed to continue communication,' the Kremlin press service said, noting that the phone call was initiated by the Indian side.

The leaders discussed bilateral cooperation and noted the importance of continuing joint projects in various spheres. They stated that trade between Russia and India had considerably increased in 2022, spilling over into the first quarter of 2023.

Russian President Putin informed Modi of Ukraine's categorical refusal to settle the conflict through diplomacy, it said about the raging war in Eastern Europe since February last year.

'The two leaders discussed the situation around Ukraine. The Russian president assessed the current situation in the special military operation zone, pointing to Kyiv's categorical refusal to take political and diplomatic steps to resolve the conflict,' Russia's state-run TASS news agency quoted the Kremlin statement as saying.

While discussing the situation in Ukraine, Prime Minister Modi reiterated his call for dialogue and diplomacy, the Ministry of External Affairs said in a press release.

India has not yet condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine and it has been maintaining that the crisis must be resolved through diplomacy and dialogue.

The Kremlin statement also said Modi briefed Putin about his recent US visit and talks with President Joe Biden.

'Narendra Modi informed him (Putin) about his international contacts, including during his recent visit to Washington,' it said.

The two leaders also discussed their countries' cooperation within the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) and the G20.

'Special attention was focused on cooperation within the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and the G20, where India holds the presidency, as well as within the BRICS format,' the statement said.

The Kremlin statement also said Prime Minister Modi has expressed support for the actions taken by the Russian leadership in connection with the short-lived armed rebellion by the Wagner mercenary group last week.

'In connection with the June 24 developments, Narendra Modi expressed understanding and support for the resolute actions by the Russian authorities to defend law and order, and ensure stability in the country and security of its citizens,' it said.

The rebellion by Yevgeny Prigozhin and his Wagner group on Saturday marked the most serious challenge to President Putin in more than two decades of his rule and triggered questions over his leadership.

The Wagner mercenary group had taken control of Rostov-on-Don town. The revolt ended when Prigozhin ordered his troops back.

Russian deputy Gurulyov: Wagnerites will definitely bear responsibility for the downed aircraft and the dead soldiers of the Russian Defense Ministry.

main-qimg-02fb058437f2ce21ef841044b9acb699

“One hundred percent will suffer. There is a law of the Russian Federation. Our military personnel died, they died from the blows of specific individuals.

Who gave the command, who launched the rocket? Therefore, be that as it may, no matter who runs away and whoever is wherever, I believe that the Investigative Committee will thoroughly deal with this issue and make a decision, ”said Gurulev, a member of the State Duma Defense Committee of the Russian Federation.

Earlier, he called on Prigozhin and the commander of the Wagnerites, Utkin, to shoot themselves and called them traitors.

I think it is pretty naive to praise zelensky while all the war has been funded by NATO money and NATO leadership, and

it's been West vs Russia this whol time....
When you take that angle, we may also congratulate Putin for not giving in against all the western world pressure and bans against Russia.....

You are very right. It is a proxy war between the West and Russia fought in Ukraine. Putin is holding rather pressing further against all odds created by the West including sanctions, weapons, financial, and propaganda. It is a testing time for Putin and Zelensky. The better way would have been dialogue but Zelensky is being pressed by the West not to get into dialogue with Putin hence the war goes on.

Then one can only praise zelensky if he comes out of western pressure and hold an independent talk with Putin....
As long as zelensky is playing a puppet's role, I don't think Putin will step back ( imo, neither should he)
As long as he is on his knees against West, this not "superb leadership" but rather a cowardice towards his own nation's interest (cus he's putting western interests above ukranian interests)

From another perspective, this is also a war for independence of Ukraine from western pressure, depending how strong their local leadership is..... I think they should maintain stronger relationships with their next door neighbours than with powers thousands of miles away ..

FM of India Jaishankar on India-Russia Relationship
"... India-Russia ties may not be spectacular but are very "exceptional and steady", adding that in many ways Moscow will focus more on Asia as its relationship with the West has "broken down..."

West was absolutley foolish in including CANADA (Canada being stupidest of all) lap dogs of American wherever American point they bark and bite .What Americans have done with Ukraine policy is that they pushed Russia into the lap of CHINA.Today they are finding very diffcult to deal with Russia. The WEST thinks they can deal with Russia and China together ,What kind of stupidity is this .The Rules of the Game has changed and countries like Canada and US needs to understand

Russia Ukraine war is not that simple as you make out. It is too complicated a game between East and West; West trying to subdue Russia. The tricks are numerous from both sides. US may have to withdraw support because internal crisis. Europe too is divided. Turkeye is pressing hard against Ukraine inclusion. Putin hurt at internal crisis specially the revolt by his own cook turned General whom he had to eliminate. What happens next is not easy to foresee though Ukraine is now at backfoot and Russia is trying to stabiles in the background of turmoil of Europe. Winning a war is not the theme of modern warfare; it is more closer to weaken an opponent not to raise its head. This is what going on between US and Russia.

Russia Ukraine has entered a stalemate since West and USA attention has been on Hamas-Israel war and they re not providing weapons and funds needed to continue the war against powerful Russia. However small skirmishes continue. A Ukrainian attack on the Russian-occupied town of Chaplynka in the southern region of Kherson killed none people and injured another nine, according to the region’s Russia-appointed governor Vladimir Saldo. There was no report of the incident from Ukrainian officials or media.
Russia launched its biggest drone attack on Ukraine in weeks, hitting critical infrastructure in 10 of the country’s 24 regions, and destroying residential buildings and a school in Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-biggest city. The air force said it shot down 24 of the 38 drones launched by Russia, as well as a cruise missile. Two people were reported injured.
Intense fighting continued around the eastern town of Avadiivka with Ukraine’s General Staff saying its forces had repelled 17 attacks on and around the town. Mayor Vitaliy Barabash told national television, the Russians were preparing for a new wave of attacks and were intent on seizing the town’s vast coking plant.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed Colonel Serhiy Lupanchuk as commander of Ukraine’s special forces, a unit known for conducting military operations in Moscow-held territories. Lupanchuk replaces Major-General Viktor Horenko, who said he had not been told why he was being replaced.
Emergency teams working to put out a fire caused by a Russian drone attack. It's night time. The workers and burning buildings are silhouetted against the orange flames.

Crimea’s Russian-installed chief says downed missile fragments had hit a dry dock and that there were no casualties. Ukraine military says it hit Zalyv shipyard in Crimea.
Ukraine’s armed forces said they hit marine and port infrastructure at a shipyard in the port city of Kerch on the eastern coast of Crimea
Since launching its counteroffensive against Moscow’s forces this summer, Kyiv has ramped up attacks on the black sea peninsula that Russia seized in 2014.

An Israeli strike on a refugee camp in central Gaza killed over 30 people late on Saturday as the fighting between Israel's military and Hamas continued. Mr Blinken insisted that the United States supports "humanitarian pauses" in the clashes and bombings in Gaza to stop civilian deaths, however, Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ruled out any scope for a ceasefire. US President Joe Biden recently said that there has been progress in securing a "humanitarian pause", but did not elaborate. "The United States believes that all of these efforts will be facilitated by humanitarian pauses," Mr Blinken said at a press conference in Jordan.
In a statement issued late on Saturday, Hamas said that the ongoing evacuation of foreigners from Gaza was being suspended until Israeli forces allowed wounded Palestinians to escape from the besieged Gaza Strip and reach Egypt through the Rafah border crossing to receive treatment. The Hamas-run Gaza health ministry said that over 9,480 Gazans, mostly women and children, have been killed in Israeli airstrikes. Hamas said at least 12 people were killed when an Israeli strike hit a United Nations school were thousands were taking shelter. United Nations chief Antonio Guterres said he was "horrified" by an Israeli strike on a convoy of ambulances in Gaza on Friday.
The intense bombing and loss of civilian lives in Gaza have provoked widespread anti-Israeli protests across the globe. It has also impacted Israel's diplomatic ties around the world with Turkey on Saturday recalling its ambassador from Israel. Jordan had recalled its ambassador on Wednesday. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has held Netanyahu personally responsible for the deaths of women and children in Gaza. "Netanyahu is no longer someone we can talk to. We have written him off," he said.
Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi, the Israeli chief of staff, visited ground forces inside Gaza as they completely surrounded Gaza City. Israeli defence minister Yoav Gallant said that his forces were "fighting hard" and were "operating from south and north (of Gaza City) and have entered populated areas". Israel has described Gaza City as "the centre of the Hamas terror organisation", however between 350,000 to 400,000 civilians still remain inside the city and adjoining areas, according to US special envoy for aid assistance David Satterfield. Israel has vowed to destroy Hamas, root and stem, as an act of vengeance for the brutal October 7 attack that killed 1,400 people, mostly civilians. Israel says it has struck 12,000 targets across the Palestinian territory since the day of the attack, in what is being described as one of the most fierce bombing campaigns in history.

Grenade blast in Donetsk Russia kills aid of Army Chief and injures 30 others. Grenade was sent in a package on the birthday gift of the aid. Ukraine takes responsibility for the attack. NATO rebukes Russia for withdrawing from post-Cold War treaty; Kyiv slams talk of 2024 elections. Putin insists Russia and China are not building Cold War-like alliances as defense officials meet as alleged by NATO.
As t e war enters 622th day the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade confirmed that 19 of its soldiers were killed last week in a Russian air attack that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy earlier described as “a tragedy”. The soldiers were attacked as they gathered for an awards ceremony at a village near the front line in the southern Zaporizhia region. Ukraine has opened an investigation into the incident.
Andriy Kovalyov, a spokesperson for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, told state television that over the past week, Ukrainian forces had repelled Russian attacks near the village of Robotyne in the southern Zaporizhia region. Kovalyov said “offensive operations” were also under way south of Bakhmut, which Russia captured in May, and that Moscow was continuing its efforts to take Avdiivka.
Zelenskyy said Ukrainian forces had destroyed the Askold, a Russian cruise missile carrier, at the Kerch shipyard in annexed Crimea. Kyiv said over the weekend that it had “successfully” carried out attacks in that area. Russia said on Sunday that one ship had been damaged. It did not name the vessel.
At least eight people were hurt after a drone and missile attack on the Southern Ukrainina city of Odesa. The Odesa Fine Arts Museum, in one of the city’s oldest tsarist-era palaces, was among the buildings damaged in the attack.
Oleksandr Prokudin, the governor of Ukraine’s southern Kherson region, said a Russian missile hit four buildings, injuring a woman. Major Hennady Chastyakov, an assistant to Ukraine’s military commander-in-chief, was killed in an explosion. Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said the blast happened at Chastyakov’s home as he was showing his 13-year-old son birthday gifts he had been given by colleagues, including a box of Western-manufactured grenades. Klymenko said an investigation was under way.
Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrovsaid a large contingent of former Wagner Group mercenaries had started training with his Akhmat special forces. He did not say how many Wagner fighters were taking part in the training or whether any would stay on with Chechen forces afterwards. Wagner forces played a key role in Russia’s capture of Bakhmut earlier this year.

Zelenskyy said it was “irresponsible” to talk about holding elections in wartime and the country needed to focus on its efforts to push Russian forces out of its territory. “We need to recognise that this is a time for defence, a time for battle, upon which the fate of the state and its people depend… I believe that elections are not appropriate at this time,” Zelenskyy said in his nightly video address.
Ukrainian prosecutors said a former deputy defence minister and his subordinate had been notified they were being investigated for the “embezzlement of state funds and obstruction of the lawful activities of the armed forces of Ukraine”. The nearly $28m case surrounds the acquisition of winter uniforms from a Turkish company, which Ukrainian journalists have linked to a member of Zelenskyy’s political party.
Radio Free Europe’s acting president Jeffrey Gedmin said the broadcaster fears Russia is using its journalist Alsu Kurmasheva as a “hostage” in the hope of a potential prisoner swap with the United States. Kurmasheva, who has Russian and US citizenship, has been in Russian custody ince October 18.

Herman Smetanin, the general director of Ukraine’s state arms manufacturer, said Ukroboronprom was developing attack drones similar to the Shahed-136 used by Russia but with a range of 1,000km (620 miles).
French company Cybergun said it signed a contract worth 36 million euros ($39m) to supply Ukraine with weapons, including hand grenades and assault rifles. (Source : Al Jazeera and other News Agencies)

Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah, has stated that it is not afraid of Americans. With its acquired missiles and drones acquired from Iran and Russia are certainly a threat to American Ships. Hezbollah, an Iranian-backed Islamist militant organization and Lebanese political party, has not ruled out escalating its ongoing fight against Israel as that country expands its ground operations in Gaza. It may involove USA directly since it blames USA as the king pin of the Israel attack. In a highly anticipated televised speech Friday, Hassan Nasrallah said that Hezbollah — which has previously vowed to destroy Israel — has already entered the fray. Hezbollah has increasingly traded fire with Israel along its northern border with Lebanon in the most significant escalation in violence since Israel fought Hezbollah in a bloody 2006 war. Over the past few weeks, some 30,000 people have fled southern Lebanon in anticipation of further violence.

Hezbollah’s next steps, Nasrallah said, depend on what Israel does in Gaza. According to Nasrallah, a ceasefire would prevent broader regional war, but he did not elaborate on what other actions Israel might take to ensure Hezbollah doesn’t more fully enter the war. He did add that the US bears responsibility for the war in Gaza — but also has the power to stop it.

“All scenarios are open on our Lebanese southern front,” Nasrallah said. “All options are laid out and we can adopt any at any point in time.”

Hezbollah counts Hamas that controls Gaza and launched the October 7 attack on Israel — as an ally. After Israel responded with its siege and onslaught of airstrikes on Gaza, one of Hezbollah’s top officials had a message for Palestinians trapped there: “Our hearts are with you. Our minds are with you. Our souls are with you. Our history and guns and our rockets are with you.”

But even after Nasrallah’s speech, it’s not clear that Hezbollah, with its extensive military experience and estimated {censored}nal of as many as 1,20,000, wants to be responsible for starting a regional war. Should Hezbollah open a front against Israel, it would be costly for both sides as well as for their international allies, and the US has stationed aircraft carriers nearby in the Mediterranean to remind the organization of that, though Nasrallah noted Friday that Hezbollah remains unintimidated.

Day 35 of Hamas Israel war
At least 11,078 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7. In Israel, the death toll stands at more than 1,400. Far too many Palestinians have been killed,’ Blinken says; Gaza health ministry says hospitals hit in strikes. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that more progress is necessary in preventing the deaths of Palestinian civilians and supplying humanitarian assistance.
Speaking at a press briefing in New Delhi, where he traveled for broader diplomatic talks, he said: “This is a process, and it’s not always flipping a light switch. But we have seen progress, we just need to see more of it, and we need to maximize every effort to prevent Palestinian deaths and to advance the humanitarian assistance that’s getting to them.”
Israeli tanks surround several hospitals in Gaza, health officials say, as al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City comes under attack five times in less than 24 hours. At least 50 killed after Israeli missiles and artillery hit third Gaza school sheltering internally displaced people. People fleeing on the main road towards southern Gaza also come under attack, witnesses say. The relentless Israeli bombardment has damaged more than 50 percent of housing units across Gaza, according to officials.
The UN’s humanitarian office issued statement saying if there is a hell on Earth, it is northern Gaza. Israel claim that they are bombing schools and hospitals as Hamas has centres over there. Al-Shifa director says ‘Utter lie’ that Hamas command centre sits under hospital. “This is false, these are utter lies,” said Abu Salmiya. “This is a civilian hospital. We cater to more than 1.5 million Gazans.” “The Israeli occupation forces are fully aware that this is a totally safe area. They are certain that there is no command centre or any tunnels under these hospitals.” “UNRWA staff, UN staff, international organisation staff have been in and around the hospital, they know that this is a totally civilian hospital catering to the victims and patients,” he added. “More than two weeks ago we took the representatives of the media from all over the world in a tour in and around and under the hospital to prove that the Israelis are propagating mere lies, false groundless allegations.”
Israel has agreed to four-hour daily pauses in its war on Gaza, the White House said on Thursday. On Thursday, 695 foreign passport holders and dependents were able to leave Gaza for Egypt through the Rafah crossing, according to the Red Cross. Thousands of Palestinians are continuing to escape to the south of Gaza through a “corridor” announced by the Israeli military. On November 9, more than 50,000 people left areas in the north, according to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
Top diplomats and defence chiefs of India and the United States discussed the Israel-Hamas war at a meeting in New Delhi, the Associated Press news agency reported on Friday.

At least 243 Palestinians and two Israeli soldiers were killed in Gaza between Wednesday and Thursday afternoon, according to the UN. In all, 10,812 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since Israel’s military campaign started on October 7, including 4,412 children. Gaza’s hospitals have been under fire during the past day. On Thursday, Israeli raids hit Gaza largest hospital, al-Shifa, killing six and injuring four according to the hospital’s director. The vicinity of the Indonesian Hospital was hit by 11 missiles, according to its director. Al-Awda Hospital, which already warned of fuel depletion and a shutdown on Thursday has also been struck overnight, according to Al Jazeera Arabic. Early on Friday, strikes were reported by Al Jazeera Arabic in the vicinity of Gaza Patient’s Friends Hospital, while the Red Crescent reported a “violent bombardment” near al-Quds Hospital.
Israel continuing its war for another month could push an additional half a million people in Gaza into poverty, the United Nations reported on Thursday. Israel’s military said it launched strikes on Syria early on Friday in response to a drone that hit a school building in Eilat. On Thursday, Yemen’s Houthi Group targeted Israel with drones and missiles, including sites in Eilat. The attacks also disrupted internet service in Yemen, according to the AP.
Arab nations call for a ceasefire.
More than 500 former campaign staffers who helped Joe Biden secure his election as United States president are pushing for him to call for a ceasefire. In the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak is being put under pressure to sack British Home Secretary Suella Braverman for her comments aginst pro-Palestine demonstrations.
In a push for international action, three Palestinian rights groups have filed a lawsuit with the International Criminal Court (ICC) for the body to investigate Israel’s “apartheid”.
In the Middle East, Iran’s foreign minister said on Friday that expansion of the Israel-Gaza war has now become “inevitable”. Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim is travelling to Egypt, according to a statement from the Qatari government’s website. The talks are expected to focus on the crisis in Gaza and the release of captives held by Hamas. On Friday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he discussed the possibility of allowing 500 humanitarian aid trucks into Gaza daily when US Secretary of State Antony Blinken visited Ankara.
