Lord is a unrealised word, if it dwells everywhere than why there is a human bias, all humans are creation of same so called lord, and HOW bias, Why Bias, Where Bias, When Bias, Who Bias. If LORD is there in all. Please reflect to introspect Lets treat all creation as ONE lord.

Like our Gurus, only those who are able to spiritually elevate themselves to certain higher threshold, can attune to this wisdom and receive it. Gurus have given us this wisdom as Gur Bani. AGGS is all Gurbani but some of us call it Sabad Guru as well - in my opinion, it is a misnomer: I can be wrong as I am just a learner like many of us. what about this.those who are able to spiritually elevate to certain higher threshold can attune to this wisdom. you mean that other than ten gurus, anyone else cannot rise to this level. what about sabad guru a misnomer. you are getting close to me. thank you good work

GURU IS THAT ENTITY WHO TEACHES GUR (LESSON)

I do not know about Nanak whether he had any kind of guru , but the rest nine gurus had a living guru, that is how the divine knowledge got transferred from gurus mind to the follower.

The tenth guru did not find any worthy living being to become a guru, so he transferred guruship to sggs and whether he wrote or the sikhs write that sabad is the guru. What is sabad in the first place. I had a chance to talk to head granthi of Damdma sahib. He said the entire sggs is a sabad. If one does not reherse the sabad, his or her mind does not straighten up and stabalize. Stable mind is the requirement to grasp the teaching from sabad guru. If the devotee does not reherse the sabad guru whole heartedly. It does not sink in his or her mind and he is not effected by it.it is the mind which has to grasp it. There are three things in sggs which are most significant , ei you, your mind and gurus teaching (sabad) The rules laid out in sggs to become divine are, selfless love, dedication, humility and sabad or gurus teaching. hindrance from becoming divine are doubt or double mindedness and slandering ohers. Rest is human code of conduct. I might have read SGGS at least one hundred times and still could not comprehend sabad guru.

If nine gurus had living guru as their guide, then why can’t I have a living guru. Unless the nine gurus had only sabad guru, which I cannot comment on. Looking at transfer of gurus spiritual power into the next guru happened through the living guru. Such as Nanak hugged Lehna and transferred divinity into his mind and made him Angad. Same way eighth guru said that next guru is at Bakala and transferred the power into ninth guru from Delhi.

Spirituality is the process to acquire divine knowledge. Divinity is the final stage of opening the mind. Sikhs read path more than any other community. Can anyone tell me, how many sikhs became divine within the last 100 years. One way to question others is to deny others idea but not realizing anything. The other is understanding and objecting and guiding the ignorant like me. Please guide me.

From sggs page 1400 I posted on this site. It appears to me that the student is communicating with his guru. That is why I put it here. If someone can translate and explain this to me any different I will be very thankful. My guru read sggs every day and then guided me. I read four pages of sggs every morning and pray to my Lord to forgive me for my ill deeds
Living guru and sabad guru are both gurus.what I did wrong not following sabad guru which I do not understand. If anyone on this site knows sabad guru and can guide me to follow sabad guru, I will be very thankful. Those who want sabad guru as their guru, I have no objection to it. Guruji always existed in this earth as the father of humanity, Ek omkar sath nam.
But as the Gurukul takes birth and devided into many religion the iron age or kaliyuga starts
Guru nanak came to Bharath Panjab and explained this secret knowledge to the highest of high quality sikh souls( purest) and that is not todays sikhs
Guruji was talking about jana gana mana adhi nayak
That is the paramathma shiva the jyothi bindu
But paramathma cannot become a guru without the seed soul become equal to him
HIndus did not understand this
The world did not understood this
The guru is already here and teaching highest of high seed to become equal to him and the family will follow him
So the guru is not just the guru of panjab or prajapitha of just bharath
Here it is the father of humanity and father of all the religion.

religion and guruji are two different thoughts and teachings

As the title of this discussion "Guruji is within and never existed Outside" implies to the fact that the Guru "outer" guru --can be helpful only in finding the inner guru.

That is all.Once the the outer guru has helped you to find the inner guru,the function of outer guru is no more .

You cannot reach to SAT through a Guru .You can reach only to the inner Guru through a Guru -- and this inner Guru will lead you the truth ...

The Outer Guru or the Granth is just a representative , a subsitute .

So all that Guru do is to push you from your logical mind to intutive force , from your argumentive mind to your trusting guide ...

guru is repreentative of GOd in human form. God does not take birth. one cannot see God who created the universe, but is represented by the guru. The guru knows and guides his follower on godly path. if you find a satisfacory guru, self surrender to him. follow his teaching and recite God. slowly slowly the mind cleanses and the guru makes you Godly . No human is guru. Gurbani directly refers to guru as gyan (divine knowledge) and or Parmeshwar. Bhenchod sikh vi bande aa nu guru mni jande

By the grace of guru all desires are fulfilled. ||3||

See only one Lord and a friend; O brother.

Everything belongs to Him; everything follows His way.

The mind becomes stable consoling with one Lord.

Everything is worthless without God. Every worldly wealth is temporary. ||1||Pause||

Millions happiness and kingdoms are obtained through the blessings of the guru.

If He bestows God’s name even a little bit, my mind and body become peaceful.

ਜਿਸ ਕਉ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਤਿਨਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਚਰਨ ਗਹੇ ॥੨॥

Those who have it written in their fate previously they touch feet of the guru.

ਸਫਲ ਮੂਰਤੁ ਸਫਲਾ ਘੜੀ ਜਿਤੁ ਸਚੇ ਨਾਲਿ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥

A little bit of time spent in love of God becomes fruitful.

ਦੂਖੁ ਸੰਤਾਪੁ ਨ ਲਗਈ ਜਿਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥

Pain and worries do not bother those who have God’s name their support.

ਬਾਹ ਪਕੜਿ ਗੁਰਿ ਕਾਢਿਆ ਸੋਈ ਉਤਰਿਆ ਪਾਰਿ ॥੩॥

He who is supported by the guru holding by the arm swims across. ||3||

ਥਾਨੁ ਸੁਹਾਵਾ ਪਵਿਤੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਥੈ ਸੰਤ ਸਭਾ ॥

The place where the saints meet is sacred and beautiful.

ਢੋਈ ਤਿਸ ਹੀ ਨੋ ਮਿਲੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਲਭਾ

He who meets the perfect guru is protected and supported.

ਨਾਨਕ ਬਧਾ ਘਰੁ ਤਹਾਂ ਜਿਥੈ ਮਿਰਤੁ ਨ ਜਨਮੁ ਜਰਾ ॥੪॥੬॥੭੬॥

Nanak built his house where no one gets pain of birth or death. ||4||6||76||

Give up smart ideas and fall to the feet of the guru. ||1||

ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜ ਸੇਤੀ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਉ ॥

O my mind, recite the name of God in peace intuitively.

ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਧਿਆਇ ਤੂੰ ਗੁਣ ਗੋਇੰਦ ਨਿਤ ਗਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Worship God twenty-four hours a day; sing praises of the Lord every day. ||1||Pause||

ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਸਰਨੀ ਪਰੁ ਮਨਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥

Seek His shelter, O mind; who has no equal.

ਜਿਸੁ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ਘਣਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਦਰਦੁ ਨ ਮੂਲੇ ਹੋਇ ॥

Reciting His name attains peace; pain and sufferings do not come close.

ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਕਰਿ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸਚਾ ਸੋਇ ॥੨॥

Be at service to God forever. He is the true master. ||2||

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਰਮਲਾ ਕਟੀਐ ਜਮਕੀ ਫਾਸ ॥

Cleanse yourself in the company of devotees. It cuts the noose of messenger of death.

ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਭੈ ਭੰਜਨੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਆਗੈ ਕਰਿ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ

Pray to the bestowal of happiness the destroyer of fear.

ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨੁ ਤਾਂ ਕਾਰਜੁ ਆਵੈ ਰਾਸਿ ॥੩॥

If the merciful God shows mercy then all affairs are solved. ||3||

ਬਹੁਤੋ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਵਖਾਣੀਐ ਊਚੋ ਊਚਾ ਥਾਉ ॥

He is beyond explanation. His Kingdom is the highest of all.

ਵਰਨਾ ਚਿਹਨਾ ਬਾਹਰਾ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕਹਿ ਨ ਸਕਾਉ

He is beyond creed and race and his value cannot be imagined.

ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਇਆ ਕਰਿ ਸਚੁ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਅਪੁਣਾ ਨਾਉ ॥੪॥੭॥੭੭॥

O God; be kind to Nanak and bless him with your name. ||4||7||77||

God’s Name is with you and protects you all the time and frees

What good is the admiration of the world?

ਮਾਇਆ ਕਾ ਰੰਗੁ ਸਭੁ ਫਿਕਾ ਜਾਤੋ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਨਿਦਾਨਿ ॥

The color of the worldly wealth is washable, will fade away o ignorant.

ਜਾ ਕੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਹਰਿ ਵਸੈ ਸੋ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਰਧਾਨੁ ॥੨॥

A person in whose mind God abides presides everywhere. ||2||

ਸਾਧੂ ਕੀ ਹੋਹੁ ਰੇਣੁਕਾ ਅਪਣਾ ਆਪੁ ਤਿਆਗਿ ॥

Become dust of the devotee and renounce ego.

ਉਪਾਵ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਸਗਲ ਛਡਿ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਗੁ ॥

Give up all schemes and smart ideas and fall at the feet of guru.

ਤਿਸਹਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਰਤਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਭਾਗੁ ॥੩॥

He who has written in his fate receives the jewel ||3||

ਤਿਸੈ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਭਾਈਹੋ ਜਿਸੁ ਦੇਵੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪਿ

O brother, only those whom God gives receive it.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਸੋ ਕਰੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਹਉਮੈ ਤਾਪੁ ॥

Only those serve the guru! Whose ego has been eradicated?

ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਸਗਲ ਸੰਤਾਪ ॥੪॥੮॥੭੮॥

Nanak surrendered to the guru; all sufferings are eradicated. ||4||8||78||

ਸਿਰੀਰਾਗੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ Siree Raag, Fifth Mahalla:

ਇਕੁ ਪਛਾਣੂ ਜੀਅ ਕਾ ਇਕੋ ਰਖਣਹਾਰੁ ॥

There is only one who knows your inner being. He is the saviour.

ਇਕਸ ਕਾ ਮਨਿ ਆਸਰਾ ਇਕੋ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥

The mind has the support of one; He is the preserver of life

ਤਿਸੁ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਕਰਤਾਰੁ ॥੧॥

In the sanctuary of supreme Lord, the Creator, there is eternal peace. ||1||

ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਗਲ ਉਪਾਵ ਤਿਆਗੁ ॥

O my mind, give up all other ideas?

ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਆਰਾਧਿ ਨਿਤ ਇਕਸੁ ਕੀ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Worship the perfect guru all the time attuning your mind to one. ||1||Pause||

ਇਕੋ ਭਾਈ ਮਿਤੁ ਇਕੁ ਇਕੋ ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ॥

There is only one brother friend mother and father.

ਇਕਸ ਕੀ ਮਨਿ ਟੇਕ ਹੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਦਿਤਾ

One who gave you life is the support of your mind.

ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਨਹੁ ਨ ਵਿਸਰੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਵਸਿ ਕੀਤਾ ॥੨॥

May I never forget God from my mind that has everything in His control? ||2||

ਘਰਿ ਇਕੋ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਇਕੋ ਥਾਨ ਥਨੰਤਰਿ ਆਪਿ

He is the one inside and out and all places of concern

ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਭਿ ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਏ ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਾਪਿ ॥

Worship the One twenty-four hours a day who created every being.

ਇਕਸੁ ਸੇਤੀ ਰਤਿਆ ਨ ਹੋਵੀ ਸੋਗ ਸੰਤਾਪੁ ॥੩॥

Attuned to the love of one, there shall be no sorrow or worry. ||3||

ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਏਕੁ ਹੈ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋਇ ॥

There is only one saviour of the world; none else.

ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਸਭੁ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੁ ਹੋਇ

Soul and body all belong to Him; whatever pleases Him, happens.

ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਪੂਰਾ ਭਇਆ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚਾ ਸੋਇ ॥੪॥੯॥੭੯॥

He became perfect through the perfect guru, O Nanak you too Worship the true Lord.

ਸਿਰੀਰਾਗੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ Siree Raag, Fifth Mahalla:

ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਿਉ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਆ ਸੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਪਰਧਾਨ ॥

Those who focus their mind to the guru control their destiny.

ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਆਪਿ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਹੋਇ ਤਿਨ ਉਪਜੈ ਮਨਿ ਗਿਆਨੁ ॥

Whoever He is kind to, obtains the divine knowledge.

ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ॥੧॥

Those who have destiny written in their fate obtain the name of God. ||1||

ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਏਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥

O my mind, recite the name of One God.

ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖਾ ਸੁਖ ਊਪਜਹ ਦਰਗਹ ਪੈਧਾ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Obtain supreme happiness; go to His court taking with you. ||1||Pause||

ਜਨਮਮਰਣ ਕਾ ਭਉ ਗਇਆ ਭਾਉ ਭਗਤਿ ਗੋਪਾਲ

The fear of birth and death is removed devotionally worshiping God.

ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਨਿਰਮਲਾ ਆਪਿ ਕਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲ ॥

God cleanses the soul in the congregation of devotees.

ਜਨਮਮਰਣ ਕੀ ਮਲੁ ਕਟੀਐ ਗੁਰ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਨਿਹਾਲ ॥੨॥

The filth of birth and death is washed away and became content meeting the guru. ||2||

ਥਾਨ ਥਨੰਤਰਿ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਇ ॥

God the supreme Lord pervades all places inside out.

ਸਭਨਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਏਕੁ ਹੈ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋਇ ॥

There is only one bestowal of all; there is no other.

ਤਿਸੁ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਛੁਟੀਐ ਕੀਤਾ ਲੋੜੇ ਸੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੩॥

One is saved in His refuge! And obtains whatever he wishes.

ਜਿਨਿ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਸੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਪਰਧਾਨ ॥

Those who have God abiding in the mind are in complete control of their destiny.

ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਨਿਰਮਲੀ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਭਈ ਜਹਾਨ

He is blessed with honor; everyone in the world acknowledges it.

ਜਿਨੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ॥੪॥੧੦॥੮੦॥

Nanak admires those who recite God. ||4||10||80||

who is that guru he admires so much

A Guru is a Speaking Voice of a Silent God. Guru is reflection of God in creation. A Guru has complete Oneness with God at all levels. A Guru can manifest any attribute of God, if God so Wills.

Now, about Guru of Sikhs and Nanak.

Lets look at few relevant verses from SGGS:
1. Nanak Jug Jug Gur Gopal
Nanak is saying his Guru in all ages is Gopal, other name of Hari.

2. Sabad Guru Surat Dhun Chela
Here Nanak goes deeper inside, and amusingly feels, its really his Surat, the Attention, which is real Chela and who is the Guru?, the Sabad which Surat attunes to as a Dhun. Sabad means the Power of God which devotee hears as a Sound in meditation. Now that vibrating God-Sound is the one the Surat should tune to as a disciple. In fact, this Sound has some connection with even our thoughts. Maybe the thoughts are also derived from a Sound.

3. Bani Guru Guru hai Bani
Bani kahe Sevak Jan Maane
Partakh Guru Nistare
Same thing, but stress is now on the Deh-Dhari (Partakh) Guru, the Human Guru who embodies the Sabad Guru, applicable to all times.

4. Aad Ant Eke Avatara
Soyi Guru Samjhiyo Hamara
Fact is, Gobind never addressed himself as Nanak, because he was in a different league, a league of its own. Here Gobind is clarifying that his Guru is The Absolute Almighty God, none else. In fact, Gobind and Hari are synonymous.

5. Gobind ke Gun gaao, sadho Gobind ke Gun gayo...
This is the distinction between Saints and Saint-Hari
