Changing the name to John would neither add nor subtract from this joke. In fact, in the West, the name Santa would just confuse people who would be thinking of the jolly fat guy in the red suit.:blushh:

May be transfer of kinetic energy from brick to a fluid may have led to e=mc2 much earlier than einstien!
Thinking out of box is what is promoted in corporte) world.
I guess many sikhs do think out of box in their own capacity and come up with bold ideas. It also led to their voyage to Canada some 100 years ago and even now they have done it ... whether it is settling down in Tarai region in UP or having makeshift arrangements( Jugaad) to solve problems in process plants, agriculture etc.

This reminds me of one of my Dad's favourite sayings: "The difficult we do at once, the impossible takes a little longer."

And his definition of impossible was, "A negative number that is positive." Always with a big laugh. In his eyes, just about anything was possible, given enough determination, intelligence and time.

That was his definition until I, studying for my master's degree in mathematics, came across a number system where negative numbers could be positive.

Circular or clock arithmetic. Start at twelve, go clockwise (the positive direction) 4 spaces. That represents the number 4.

Now again start at 12 and go counterclockwise (the negative direction) 8 spaces. That represents the number -8 (negative 8.

But wait! When you're at -8, you're also at 4. So (in this system), 4= -8.

Do you dare tell me you don't get it! Just look at a round clock and follow the directions.

This is out of the box and into the round, eh?

Needless to say, Dad was absolutely delighted and he changed his definition of impossible, too. "With sufficient ingenuity, impossible is a null concept."

I liked all the jokes posted. I like ethnic jokes when they are not mean. Many ethnic jokes come from the people targeted. It's healthy to be able to laugh at one's self. I heard exactly the same joke as Bhagat's but it was about an Irish (catholic), man who was the most popular.

Here's an oldie: Three friends go up in the Himalayas to meditate. After one year, one of them says, "it looks like it's going to rain", then after another year the second one says "I think you are right", then a year later the last one says "Be quiet!".:meditation:

Who says Sikhs are stupid people? The only thing that I heard about Sikhs is positive. They are known to be "a joyful lot, ecxellent business people" and a hindu atheist friend told me that in the past, they actually saved the hindu from assimilation. I personally think it's people like them we need to save humanity from becoming an extinct species and from dehumanisation. I'm not a Sikh and will never convert out of respect for me and them but I surely identify with their "don't mess with me" attitude. :thumbsuppp:

Every time the Hindus are in trouble, *** long as there have been Sikhs, we have rushed in to save them, since they were weak and oppressed and we are the protectors of the weak and oppressed. Even the "non-violent" liberation from the British was made possible only because many Sikhs had fought and died fighting against the British for freedom. Below is a chart showing Sikh losses in the freedom struggle compared to the Hindus. Look at it, bearing in mind that Sikhs are 2% of the Indian population.

I agree. We Sikhs are pretty cool. :blushhh: whistlingkudi Bertrand Russell agrees with you, even though he was an atheist. He said,

Russell was asked that he was talking about the third world war, but isn't this religion capable of guiding mankind before the third world war?
