If a person only want to do useless activities, there are a countless:

Guru Ji says:

The faithless cynic passes his life uselessly.

He is like the mouse, gnawing away at the pile of paper, making it useless to the poor wretch. ||Pause||

kds1980 Ji,

Nirmal karam -

may include:
providing help to those who are handicapped or old-GOOD EXERCISE
providing game coaching to kids
cleaning Gurdwara
Langar seva
Other Volunteer Work
and more

ALL THE ABOVE ARE BETTER EXERCISES THAN YOGA- as others benefit from these. and there is always some work needed to be done in any city of the world.

Re: Why Not Yoga Practices

LOL Interesting how the views have moved from Yog to Kushti.

Actually not surprising as there are probably people who consider the two to be the same! LOL .

Friends do not idle away this life. If you have not achieved the divine purpose of this life then seek, turn to sadhna and dhyaan (meditation)...

Incidentally above is a big help in day to day living too.

Consider sankalp...

And all the best in your quest.

For people who know not Hindi or other Sanskrit derived languages, I ask for your indulgence in explaining two words.

Kushti - By this are you saying the "girdle of service to God" a metaphor for the girdle worn by Zoroastrians - and meaning the spiritual discipline of religious devotion?

Sankalp - Are you talking about sacred teachings and scriptures?

Not complaining. Only asking on behalf of members who would glance at your post and move on because they do not understand.

Yoga means different things to different people. At present Yoga is a gym exercise, 50 years ago it meant something else. Visit this Yoga archive to understand what I am trying to convey.

Re: Why Not Yoga Practices

Thanks so much kds1980-- AS USUAL,

In looking up translations for the Hindi meanings -- each word has a dozen meanings depending on context and it was baffling.

Now cheerful
