Neutral Sikh Ji,
Please forgive me for saying that it seems to me that you are confused and there is a dire need to set your information right.
First, i will partially endorse your point by mentioning that it is not only the Sikhs, entire generation of all religions is going through a change. In fact in a bid to show their so called liberalism young boys and girls are taking the liberties and are drifting away from the teachings of their religions. Girls are just following the footsteps of boys. But, what we are talking about are the exceptions.
Now, coming back to our point. I know a lot of Sikh boys and girls who feel proud of being Sikh. They keep their rahat and maryada intact even while being in the company of others who take liberties of taking alcohol, cutting hair and so on. It is your own internal will power and faith that keeps you going without getting dirty (You know a Lotus flower doesn't loose its identity even being in a dirty pond).
Singh ji, look for a good company of like minded people and you will find all positive vibes flowing around you. Black sheeps are always there but let's ignore them and leave them at their own peril.
Please don't take me wrong if i put forward some facts. I am an IT professional, have worked for various companies and have remained in the company of all sorts of people including those who will drink heavily, at any time of the day and at any given opportunity, will eat non-veg like beasts. I have always been a good company to them with my coke and green salad and there is a long list of friends (personal and professional) who in fact respect me because of my principals. I have never lost or missed an opportunity because of my rahat and maryada.
A humble request - Just clean your glasses and have a fresh look at the world. Let me tell you that the sikh girls are much more prudent and practical than we think they are. They are in fact the ones who have grown up to become good sikh mothers and trust me this will be true for this generations as well. Just ignore the exceptions (the black sheep). Each one of us have to vow that we will not follow these black sheep and make a herd with them.
Guru Fateh !
